It's weeks away from the 2018 midterm elections, Sam, Justin, Jenny, and I were campaigning hard for the Democrats running in senate and house races. The Truth Bird went on a cross-country tour visiting college campuses in every state lecturing on the dangers of propaganda, and the decline of America's long- standing voice for human rights. Under immense pressure from the White House, the justice department issued a federal warrant for the Truth Bird's arrest. After a few narrow misses by federal agents, his luck finally ran out as he was arrested, leaving the set at CNN studios. He was booked and charged at the Federal Bureau of Investigations headquarters for felony feces disbursement and transferred to the Virginia jail where he would await trial. The Truth Bird had a rough start after meeting his cellie Paul Manafort, who was also awaiting trial on a list of federal crimes ranging from money laundering to violating campaign-financing laws. The Truth Bird's arch nemeses, Rudy Giuliani and the president, were excited they had the bird cornered and wasted no time putting a price on his head. The Truth Bird was denied bail and was instructed by his counsel that it was not likely he would be acquitted, so Giorgio, not having any of that, plots the vigilante bird's escape. The aliens implement a brazen jailbreak freeing the legendary bird and welcome him home to a grand reception at the Star Castle, honoring him for timeless service. Due to the stressful campaign season, Giorgio insists we all go on a retreat to one of the newly developed planets named Martika in order to rest before the final push into the midterm elections. After a weeklong rest and spiritual rejuvenation, we head back to earth to campaign for the remaining days of the most important election in United States history.

Chapter 1

It’s 2018, and it’s two months before the midterm elections. Jenny, Justin, Sam, the Aliens, and I have been campaigning tirelessly along with many others to help the Democrats take back control of the House of Representatives and, possibly, the Senate. There were many new, young, and bright Democratic candidates running on issues that affected the day-to-day struggles Americans were dealing with everywhere, such as health care, education, climate change, and earning a living wage. They would also act as a true check on President Trump, who has attempted thus far to undermine our democracy.

The current Republican members of congress have attempted to dismantle our intelligence agencies and the FBI in order to protect the corrupt actions of the president. With the help of the Fox News propaganda platform, they’ve come dangerously close, causing incredible anxiety among a majority of Americans. There is no other thing to call it but treason, and those involved will always be remembered for their disgraceful service. Before the president took office, he was a crook and robbed thousands of contractors in Atlantic City. He and his family conspired with the Russians to meddle in the 2016 elections.

The brazen attack included a hack on the DNC, where they stole and released thousands of Hillary Clinton and John Podesta’s e-mails to the public. The administration states the discourse sown by the thousands of Russian fake ads had no effect on the election results, and he was the legitimate president-elect. Those who voted for him will take that to the bank, but the rest of us know he cheated and will always believe without their help, he would’ve never pulled off the slim margin to win the electoral college.

The consequences were no small potatoes. They were anything but that to families who were separated at the Mexican border; the Puerto Rican Americans who were left in dire straits after being hit with back-to-back hurricanes; the forever-suffering people in Syria caused by the president’s god, Vladimir Putin; the starving and brutalized people in Yemen caused by the Saudi Arabian blockade not allowing aid workers in; the countries and the people who were affected by the Muslim ban; and the intelligence communities that had to defend their slandered reputation to the biggest criminal America has ever seen.

Our allies he’s disrespected and dragged through the mud while praising ruthless dictators around the world, the daily insults people of color have had to endure as he promoted white supremacy, the transgender community whose rights to serve in the military were almost taken away from them, and the American people who’ve been terrorized watching an authoritarian leader attempt to topple our democracy—no small potatoes indeed.

Those examples just scratched the surface of actions taken by this administration and the Republican congress. Their actions were so divisive and they made no attempt to unite the country, nor did they have any interest in representing those on the other side of the aisle. Many Americans were pissed off! They weren’t in a forgiving mood and wanted to know the truth of what happened and justice from those who committed crimes tipping the election.

The Truth Bird’s archnemesis Rudy Giuliani tried publicly to change the definition of truth, which sent him over the edge. Fortunately, a couple of days later, it backfired and a few of the president’s men were convicted of serious crimes on the same day. His campaign manager Paul Manafort was convicted of crimes related to fraud and money laundering and his personal attorney Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to violating campaign finance laws and stated he was directed by the president to do so. Not a good day for the crooked president.

The Truth Bird made rounds to college campuses around the country, giving speeches and energizing young people to get involved in the political process. He was impressed with their passion to stand up and vote for those whose vision for the country was in line with their values. He was also being very cautious because there was a warrant for his arrest issued by the justice department and there had already been a few close calls where he was almost captured.

The Truth Bird was invited to debate the president’s mounting legal problems with Alan Dershowitz and Jeffery Toobin on Prime Time with Chris Cuomo. He accepted the offer because he was a
