About this ebook

About twenty-five years ago, God revealed to me that he would bring judgment, restoration, hope, and encouragement to his people. After prayer, I drew a picture in my Bible and didn't think much of it, a drawing that clearly reveals a woman writing with a pen on a tablet. Many years later, I came across that same drawing but this time, God's purpose manifested itself. It was at this point, that I began to write. Within the pages of this book, you will find the mind of God revealed and his purpose for our lives. In the words of her brother and Pastor Alberto Ortiz Jr., "You will be amazed how God has inspired the author to write. He fills her mind with words that flow from her fingers -onto paper- and into your heart. Who knew the plans God had for that little girl, who once found reading and writing so difficult? A little girl who was destined to grow up and become an author for the Almighty God."

About 25 years ago, after I got through praying I picked up my bible and it opened in the book of Amos. At that moment, I picked up a pen and my hand started moving and drew this image. When I looked upon the drawing I didn't know what it meant or the meaning of it until he revealed it to me in 2007. God put in my heart a desire to write- to give his people hope and encouragement to those who are crying out with broken hearts. God has revealed to me that He will bring judgement and restoration to his people. In this drawing, the finger of God points to the last verse in the book of Amos that quotes The Lord your God has spoken. Everything has a meaning and God has taught me to write and do his will.

These verses were also underlined in the Book of Amos and I believe that God relates these verses with this drawing.

The days are coming, says the Lord, when grain will grow faster than it can be harvested, and grapes will grow faster than the wine can be made. The mountains will drip with sweet wine, and the hills will flow with it. I will bring my people back to their land. They will rebuild their ruined cities and live there; they will plant vineyards and drink wine; they will plant gardens and eat what they grow. I will plant my people on the land I gave them, and they will not be pulled up again. The Lord your God has spoken. (Amos 9:13-15)

The sovereign Lord never does anything without revealing his plan to his servants, the Prophets. (Amos 3:7)

The time is coming when I will make the sun go down at noon and the earth grow dark in daytime. I, the sovereign Lord, have spoken. (Amos 8:9)

I saw the Lord standing by the altar. (Amos 9:1)

For over half a century, Sandra and I have been a part of each other’s lives. I couldn’t have asked for a better sister. We had our humble beginning, but God has blessed us abundantly and when you measure our happiness in spirit, with our marriages and our families—we are rich beyond words.

I remember as a young kid, running, playing, and laughing (sometimes fighting) with my siblings, but since Sandra and I were closer in age, we seemed to have a closer bond. I remember going to school and sitting behind her desk and distracting her (as brothers often do). I also remember being home and sitting in the kitchen doing homework. For some reason the words, sentences, and writing were difficult for my sister Sandra to grasp. During those childhood years, who was I to know the plans of God?

I now read the letters and the writings of my sister and I am amazed. Amazed at how God inspires her to write, amazed at how God fills her mind with words that flow from her fingers – onto paper – and right into your heart. I am very proud of my sister, she had the pure heart that God was searching for to speak to His people.

In that old country house so many years ago, who knew the incredible plans God had for that little girl, who once found reading and writing so difficult? A little girl who was destined to grow up and become an author for the Almighty God.

    –Pastor Alberto Ortiz Jr.
