Raw Diet

About this ebook
A tribute to the people who live
Through what most of us couldn't
Begin to swallow each day of their life.
Learning too young, living too fast, and dying slow.
This is a common legacy they've had to sow.
Where nothing is promised but a
Hard life and an untimely funeral procession.
Where the old outlive the young
An ugly fact accepted without question.

Raw Diet - DEL WILLS
Gunshot
Sent with best regards from perpetrators of pain.
Laying the marked cards on the table with the outcome the same.
Another statistic is all we’ve gained.
Washed blood down the gutter where evil reigns.
Carried out by depravity who now rules over what was once love’s domain.
Gunpowder, addictions, and bluesteel are the weapons of choice
Silenced is love’s ever-weakening voice.
To stop a heartbeat, flatline, making a loved one left want to die
Again in a stupor at the gravesite churning out a steady grist.
Tomorrow will wager another farewell kiss.
Stab, blast, or overdose.
Another mouthful swallowed up within our midst.
Like an epidemic, rampant is the likes of this.
Again conceived by the madness of inhumanity to man.
Virulent ever in darkness plotting their next plan.
No solution against evil by evil men can stand.

Neo Slaves
Bent backed
Bowed down to the vices
With voices of incivility
Screaming lies in their
Ears while all the while
Stealing and destroying
All that’s held dear
Though the cotton is gone
And Jim Crow is tucked away.
The feathers and tar of
Servitude still stuck to
The feet in the darkness
Of greed, addiction, and promiscuity.
The whips and chains of
Slavery self-imposed,
They repeat.
Like whipped, dumb sheep
Fallen into a hole dug deeper each generation.
The echoes of errors bleat.
Modern times cannot stop the
Worn, self-inflicted wounds
That we repeat.
An incessant quicksand that
Catches our feet.
Heritage and morals have
Been tucked away.
Earned heirlooms sleep
The souls of great grandmother’s
Are troubled and weep.
New viruses from new strains
Mothers at gravesites cry
From reopened wounds. And
Self-inflicted pains.
Blood has been bleached
Yet we replace the stain
Once we broke the chains
Now we’re shackled again
By our own greed, perversion
And ever-darkening purpose
Again old Massah has surfaced
Too live crew hadn’t a clue
Barely cracking the surface.
Stubbornness and rebellion are
Killing credibility at its core
A mildew of raunchy, calamitous uproar.
Credit cards creasing the flesh
Of quivering behinds within a
Frenzy of abandon where we’ve
Lost our minds.
Another fallen Rome
An internal demotion.
A calculated tryst far beyond
A slap on the wrist.
A neo slave has surfaced.
A corpse risen in the swamp of remorse.
Repetition of the suspect guile of perdition.
Tarred and feathered
Island birds who cannot fly or swim
Caught up, hedged in unable to fend.
Without end
Lost within the pollution of
Drugs and self-imposed death
We must contend
Despite the black and bloated
Fruit that hung from wicked limbs
Lessening odds already slim
Regression cannot win.
But the battle doesn’t ever
Start without but deep within.

Glazed Donuts
Glazed eyes with holes in their heads.
Ignoring the body count,
The dispensable, they might
As well say.
If we yawn right through
This it might go away.
A civil war in an uncivil time
A diseased society catapulting
Toward total decline.
Raging in the liberty of the night
Where anything is deplorably all right
But in the subterfuge of the day
It becomes a pitiable oversight
Daytime is politically incorrect
But murdering each other in the
Night where it feigns invisibility
For those sleeping in safety,
They think, do not object.
We all will feel it
The ripple effect of malcontent
While glazed donuts lay in slumber
As evil’s reign rages with its advent.

Up in Smoke
Nostrils dull to the rank
And rancid humor
As it curls seductively
About the nose
Catching at the throat
Caught up in a dizzying moment
Clots of regret are again swallowed
No matter how much you choke
How much you have to pay for
The moment even if you’re broke.
The wheel of addiction must
Turn despite the loss of your core.
The loss of life spoke
Depravity dulls the senses
As the smoke swells in their head
Up in smoke
A charred and shattered life rolled.
Roach clipped
All of your own device
Bite with gusto into the sawdust
Of your days.
Up in smoke
Caught up in a purple haze
Snake eyes have been thrown to the
Wind of chance.
Spiraling up into smoke permeating your soul
With its hypnotic glance

Reprobates
Like disease these
Troubled souls have
Gone rabid
Ruminating upon their
Next evil spree
Making examples of
Their depravity.
Virulent, spreading their
Anger and pain through
The clogged overburdened
Arteries of society
Dragging along with them
Their self-loathing and
Unresolved debris
Cowards afraid of the
Dark in themselves having
A Pandora box making too many
Lives a living hell
With their weapons of show
And don’t tell.
Wreaking havoc and lives bullet
Riddled with fear and pain
Reprobates with their weapons of blame
Shooting off threats day and night
Bullets spraying the air never
Solving their plight.
Reprobates afflicting
Their own and others
Nothing is sacred to them
Not child or mother
Bullets and drugs are their brother
All infamy is their only claim to fame
Brutality, drunkenness, and drugs
To them is all the same.
At the end of the road for them
Is their real addiction, gain at
Any cost however the dice are tossed
Putting their evil in remission
Sewing up one wound while
Another criminal act makes another
Invasive incision.
Reprobates. Degenerates.
Soldiers of fortune with crime.
The armpits of society born to
Lose is their goal
Unable to pay for the lives
That they stole.
Stealing all but the eyes of the blind
No concern about their dark end
Wherein you’ll discover the many
Shades of evil stalking like shadows
In
