    What Hope Looks Like

    For my son, Zachariah ~
I wish for you roses in summer, showers in spring, snowmen in winter and songs to sing,

    *****

When he lifts his bundle over his back,

Santa smiles at his heavy sack,

but soon we’ve settled in the bright red sleigh,

and Rudolph leads us up, up and so far away!

Sliding the sack beneath one eye,

    I
