I loved watching films like The Craft and Practical Magic.
And entering adulthood, Halloween remained my favourite holiday, more so than Christmas, birthdays and Thanksgiving, too.
Not only did I love the spooky side, but Halloween really gave people the chance to embrace their dark side – it was like you could make your vulnerabilities fun.
And when my daughter Samantha, now 11, was born, she was brought up to love spooky season.
