About this ebook

It's not Supernatural; It's Spiritual To "operate in the supernatural" is a statement that many churches state we as Christians should be able to do. But is that conceptually true according to scriptures? This book will examine whether or not this concept can be supported by the Bible. It will explore such topics as follows: • Is there a difference between "operating in the supernatural" and "being spiritual"? • Can we actually operate in the supernatural? • What is the difference and why is it so important to understand? • Why would Satan want us to operate in the supernatural? • What does God expect of us as his church? The answer to these questions and more will be thoroughly examined in the contents of this book. What the Bible says about these things may truly surprise you.

    Preface

While preparing to write this manuscript, my mind continued to return to a scene I remembered from the film The Wizard of Oz. Dorothy, Scarecrow, and Tin Man were entering the forest when their imagination began to take control of their senses. Their fears soon took full control of their actions and corrupted their reality. All they could think of was, Lions and tigers and bears! Oh my! Their hearts were racing with every sound they heard. They expected to be devoured by some horrendous creature or another.

Then suddenly they were face-to-face with one of those horrible creatures that their imagination told them of. He did to them just what they expected him to do. He growled at them. He threatened them. He challenged them to do battle with him. He expected them to be so petrified that they would be unable to do anything—and they were. They were so afraid that they could not even turn to run away.

They were willing to let the lion have his way with them. That is until one of them, Dorothy, the one you would least expect, stood up to him. She struck him on his nose after he tried to attack something she loved. She took action. When she smacked him, he immediately began to cry like a baby. Everyone was surprised at the reaction her boldness produced, especially the lion, because someone finally had enough courage to stand up to him.

This is a prime example of the state the church is in today. We have allowed our imagination to grip us with so much fear, that rather than take a stand, we let our adversary terrorize us with his loud roars and fake tenacity. What a shame! We are playing right into his hands. He is counting on our fears to keep us where he wants us so he can continue to have his way with us. Where are the Dorothys of the church who are willing to take a stand because something they love is being threatened—their salvation?

It is for this reason I am writing this book, to encourage the church not to be afraid to take a stand
