About this ebook

The Last Days, Time Seals, and Trumpets is separated into three unique sections. The first section speaks of God's timeline of events from the creation of time until the destruction of the world. The creation of time is discussed from both mankind's view of measuring time and God's view concerning time. It also explores how modern theories such as Darwin's theory of evolution, Einstein's theory of relativity, and the big bang theory compare with what the Word of God states. The second section is an in-depth study of the book of Revelation, with emphasis on the opening of the seals and the blowing of the trumpets. And the third section is a topical study of end-time subjects with scripture references for each topic. This book is unique in that it ties Old Testament scriptures to the events surrounding the seals and trumpets mentioned in Revelation.

    Introduction

Archaeologists have found ancient prophecies written thousands of years ago across the Middle East, and these prophecies have systematically become fulfilled as time passes. The prophecies from these ancient manuscripts were very accurate in depicting future events. They have been discovered, gathered, and translated from their original languages into modern languages and placed into one volume, a book we call the Bible. Other texts dating back to the fourteenth century BC discovered on archeological digs by historians in various locations confirm the acts recorded in the Bible did happen in these locations. These texts, which originated from the Egyptian, Canaanite, Akkadian, Aramaic, Sumerian, Moabites, Hittites, and other areas, have historically verified the fulfillment of these prophecies. They confirm that the biblical events happened in these locations.

Today, many producers make movies based on an ancient prophecy that brings about a catastrophic event that is now coming to pass. A person or being takes the lead role, which is instrumental in preventing this imminent catastrophe. So many moviegoers seemingly want to buy into this belief long enough to watch the movie, but they get back to their reality of day-to-day life when the movie is over.

In the film, people are unaware of the prophetic catastrophe that will soon occur until they learn the prophecy. These people are just going about their daily lives, completely unaware of the pending doom. Similarly, many people today are not aware of the prophecies from God concerning events that will happen during the end-times. I genuinely believe we are in those last days at the end of time, and I hope this book can shed some light on this subject for all who read it. The fulfillment of some of these prophetic events is seen in today's news, and they are not a part of a movie. These biblical prophecies are now occurring!

Ancient prophecies being fulfilled sounds like an exciting backdrop for a movie. However, prophecies from the Bible are not from some make-believe movie. Biblical prophecies are well documented and come from our living God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth. Almost all the events from the prophecies in the Bible have already taken place!—all of them except for the ones concerning the end of time. These end-time prophecies have continually been fulfilled from the time of Jesus's crucifixion. One of the more notable ones is when Israel became a nation again, which was prophesied as going to occur over a thousand years ago. The event of when Israel became a nation is just one of the end-time prophecies found in the Bible. Other prophecies continue to be fulfilled and unfold right before our eyes if we would only see them. The nations of Russia, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Israel, Egypt, and China are all prophesied as being involved in end-time events by the Bible. These countries are constantly in today's news.

Currently, we are living in the times of Gentiles, which are a part of the end-times. The last days will end when the times of the Gentiles are over. One thing to note is the times of the Gentiles will not slowly fade away and gradually end. They will come to an end in an instant when Jesus returns and sets up His kingdom government here on earth. Jesus did not stay dead, and He will not stay gone! Therefore, I have written this book concerning His soon return and what must happen according to biblical prophecies. Not all the things I have written are popular beliefs, but I use more than one scripture to support my opinions on each subject. I pray the Holy Spirit speaks to all who read this book, and any carnal or worldly views I may have will not show in this work.

Jesus was faithful in that He did not shrink back from His mission to die on the cross as a sacrifice for you and me. God had this mission in place for Jesus before He created the world, and He spelled out His plan in the Old Testament scriptures. Jesus is the Word, and He told the prophets what words to record when they wrote the scriptures. God laid out the plan of salvation for humanity, and then Jesus faithfully followed that plan to the end. The plan included Jesus giving His life on the cross, and that plan is complete. However, God still has a plan in place for Jesus to set up His earthly kingdom at the end of time, and God is continually following this plan that will bring about the events of the end of times. I have written this book concerning those phases of God's plan. God's plan concerning these end-of-time events is also written in the scriptures for us to know.

I hope this book will help us better understand what the Bible says will happen during the end-time events spoken of in Revelation by examining the plagues in Revelation, the mark of the beast, the battle of Armageddon, and other end-time prophecies spoken of in the Bible. This book does not try to place specific dates for the future events spoken of in Revelation to occur. It instead describes those events and the order they are to happen.

    Chapter 1

    Time

I wanted to know when those things spoken of in Revelation would occur, so I started researching topics for this book to help me understand time, the seals, and the trumpets spoken of in Revelation. God has a time for everything, and I discovered that some of the events in Revelation have already taken place, but most are still to come. There will become a fullness of time, a point when time, as we know it, will cease, and eternal time with God starts. And we need to understand where we presently are located on this time line of events. God gave us time, and we will look a little further into how we perceive time to help us understand our place on God's time line of events.

    Modern time

Let us start with the basics concerning time. When asked how we measure time, many people will think of hours, minutes, and seconds. But are these not a part of a day? We came up with the day as a twenty-four-hour clock from ancient Egyptians who divided each day into two periods. They had ten hours of light and ten hours of darkness, along with two hours of twilight after each period. By having two hours of twilight at the beginning of the day and another two hours at the end, this breakdown gave us the twenty-four-hour clock we use today.

Time was further broken up into sixty minutes during an hour and sixty seconds for a minute by the ancient Babylonians. The Babylonians were the ones who also made the circle 360 degrees in circumference. The Babylonians liked using math involving numbers in the intervals of sixty. Now, combining the hours of the day the Egyptians gave us with the Babylonian division of those hours into intervals of sixty minutes is how we came to have the modern-day clock.

We also measure time by the number of days that have passed, and we often use a calendar to mark the passing of those days. When looking into how we came to our modern-day calendar, we will find that the Romans during the time of Julius Caesar came up with a calendar that was very close to the one we use today. This Roman calendar added one day every fourth year, introducing the leap year. Why did they do this? You may ask. It was so the calendar would stay in tune with the seasons. Before the Romans added the day during leap year to the calendar, the calendar occasionally had to be adjusted to keep track of the seasons. If a calendar did not keep up with the seasons, it might be winter in December this year, but December would be in a different season, like spring or summer, in a few hundred years. The day added by the Romans for the leap year kept the calendar in sync with the natural seasons, which made the Roman calendar very accurate. One year on this Roman calendar was 365 days and 6 hours in length. Mankind used this calendar until recent history when we discovered the year is actually 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, and 46 seconds long in duration.

Now that we have discussed measuring time, let us look further at the time on earth. Another way we measure time is by seasons. And those seasons, with their division of daylight, differ depending on where the viewer is standing on the planet. Depending on where someone is on the ground and what season it may be would determine how many hours of daylight and darkness would occur. For example, if you are in Alaska, it may be dark twenty-two hours a day during the winter, or in the summer, it may be daylight for twenty-two hours. By contrast, there are twelve hours of daylight and twelve hours of night on the equator, no matter what season. Therefore, it would be fair to say, light and darkness divide into different percentages depending on where the viewer is standing and what time of the year it is.

Time is continuous with no foreseen stopping point, but men needed to set a specific mark on the globe so they could mark the start of one day and the end of another. This mark, called the international date line, runs north and south in the Pacific Ocean, and it is located just east of New Zealand in the South and is situated between Alaska and Russia in the North. It could be Monday in Russia at midnight and Sunday in Alaska at 11:00 p.m. Moving across this time line is just like passing into any other time zone, except this is the zone where one day changes to the next.

Now that we have discussed some of the basic elements of measuring time, let's look deeper into time. What is a day? A day is the time it takes for the earth to make a complete revolution on its axis, and the revolution causes day and night on its surface. The sun shines on the planet, and in one moment, half of the earth is in the daytime, and the other half is at night. The world spins around one time, and it has been one day, and when it turns around seven times, a week has passed. The earth's orbit around the sun is further broken down into years, decades, centuries, etc. While spinning on its axis, the world travels through space, orbiting the sun, which gives us our different seasons. Time is often measured by seasons and thought of in phrases like the great winter of 1963. Seasons differ depending on the earth's location during the orbit around the sun.

The sun is the primary source of light we have, and in the broadest sense of time. We measure time by how close we are to that light and how long it takes for us to revolve around that light. We also calculate how much light we have each day. The light from the sun gives off radiation, and our modern-day atomic clocks use that radiation to keep time.

Einstein's theory of relativity. We have spoken of time as the movement of the earth through space around the sun. Einstein thought of how an object moving through space relates to time and developed the theory of relativity. In the theory of relativity, Einstein explained that a person could travel through space at near the speed of light but could not travel faster than light. He described it in the following manner: Everything we see is light being reflected off an object. For example, when a man looks at a tree, he sees the tree only because light has reflected from the tree to his eyes. This light has all the colors in its spectrum, and when reflected from an object, it gives off the different colors and shades that are seen. In our example, the man only sees the tree because light has come from some source and bounced off the tree to the man's eyes. If there were no light, the man would not see the tree.

The light must be in motion to reflect on someone's eye from an object. If it were not moving, it would not have hit the tree and then glanced toward the man's eyes. Scientists have discovered light travels at 186,282.4 miles per second. Let's put the speed of light into a bit of perspective. The earth, at its circumference, is 24,902 miles in diameter. Therefore, the light bouncing off the tree back to the observer in our example would have enough time to circle the world almost seven and a half times in one second. The actual number is 7.48 times for anyone doing the math. When we think of 24,902 miles, it may sound like a great distance, but it is tiny in the grand scheme of things. If light can go around the world seven and a half times in one second, how far into space away from the earth would light go in one second? The answer is not very far. The closest planet to the earth is Venus, which is twenty-five million miles away—meaning, light would need to travel for 134.20 seconds or 2.24 minutes to reach Venus from our location. Mars is located 232.83 million miles from Earth, and light would take 1,249.88 seconds or 20.83 minutes to reach Mars from Earth. It takes five and a half hours for the light from the sun to reach Pluto. Stars and galaxies are so far away that light traveling to those locations is measured in years, and this measurement is called light-years. The closest galaxy to us is twenty-five-thousand light-years away.

In Einstein's theory, he stated, if someone was traveling near the speed of light, that person could turn to look back in the direction they were coming from and see himself turning to look back. He could see himself because he was traveling at almost the same speed as the light. To understand this concept, we need to look at the speed of light a little closer.

We usually measure the speed traveled in miles per hour, not miles per second. Commercial jets travel between 460 to 575 miles per hour. If we converted that to miles per second, the travel of these jets at their fastest time would be 0.16 miles per second. Now let us suppose this man in Einstein's example was traveling in a jet at 186,280 miles per second, not at 0.16 miles per second, and light is traveling in the same direction at 186,282.4 miles per second. The man and light would be traveling together in the same direction and at almost the same speed. When this man looks back, he would have crossed the distance of the earth's circumference 7.48052 times in one second, while light would have taken 7.48062 seconds. So the light reflecting off himself while he was looking back would only be 0.0001 of a second ahead of him. By this time, the man would have traveled some distance farther. And when the man looked back in the direction from where he came, he would see the first wave of light bouncing off himself when turning around to look, and he would then also see the second wave of light that occurred 0.0001 seconds later. This process would repeat itself continually, and the man would be looking back into a short period that seemingly reoccurs. So, in essence, he could look back into time and see himself looking back into time to see himself looking back into time, etc., like when we place two mirrors facing each other.

Einstein taught, if this man were traveling faster than the speed of light, he would expand in every direction and become more extensive than the expanse of the universe. You would not be able to see him any longer because he is traveling faster than the speed of light, and the light needed to reflect from him so that he would be seen, would never catch up to his location. Time, in essence, is measured by the movement of light, and time has continued ever since God created it back in the creation story found in Genesis.

During the creation story, God also created the earth, and over time, the earth's features have changed by the eruptions of volcanoes, creating new land, or when rivers change courses or dry up altogether. The ground on planet Earth continues to change as time progresses. For example, you can go to the Davis Mountain area in Southwest Texas and find fossilized seashells. Or you can go to Glen Rose, Texas, and find dinosaur footprints in the rocks of the streams. These footprints were made at the ocean's edge back when the sea came that far inland. And in Paris, Texas, near the Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas border, you can find shark teeth in the sand. These things give evidence of how the oceans were once much further inland than they are today and that the landscape has evolved to where almost half of the state of Texas is no longer under the ocean like it once was.

Darwin's theory of evolution. Darwin spoke of evolution, but the evolution Darwin spoke of is different from land evolving into a different shape. What is Darwin's theory of evolution? Darwin stated certain species of animals changed or evolved with time. If you were to ask people what they think concerning Darwin's theory of evolution, you would find many people with many different opinions. Some people believe the big bang theory is a part of Darwin's theory of evolution. They are not the same because the big bang theory came around one hundred years after Darwin. To help sort through the confusion, I want to discuss what Darwin believed.

Darwin came up with his theories concerning evolution when he was around thirty years old and had visited the Galápagos Islands. He did not publish the book concerning his thoughts on evolution for another twenty years when he was fifty. When Darwin published his book on the theory of evolution, it upset the scientific world, not just because of what he stated but because, as a scientist, he should have made predictions concerning his theories and observed to see if the outcome he predicated happened or not. Verifying these predictions would be the method used to prove or substantiate his hypothesis. Darwin did not do this with his book on evolution. He just wrote down his thoughts and published them in a book. Today, most people associate Darwin with his theory of evolution because of that book. However, in my opinion, Darwin would have been more famous as a scientist studying botany had he not first come up with his ideas of evolution. When Darwin came up with theories concerning botany, he appropriately substantiated his hypothesis relating to plant reproduction. This hypothesis was made by observing plants reproduce through different pollination processes. Darwin discovered a plant would remain healthier if the pollen for reproduction came from another plant and was not self-pollinated. Farmers still use this knowledge today to grow healthier crops.

I have discovered all confusion comes from the devil when he tries to muddy up the waters with his lies and deception. He is a liar and the father of all lies, and he mixes the truth with misconceptions and falsehoods so that his lies will appear more truthful. Let us look at Darwin's theory of evolution. Darwin stated that all existing creatures descended from a small number of original or progenitor species, and he compared the history of all life to a great tree. The tree's trunk represents the few progenitor species in Darwin's theory. The tree's extensive system of branches and twigs symbolizes the great variety of life that has evolved from that trunk. Darwin did not explain the beginning of the original species that he assumed to be the starting point for the evolutionary process. He instead focused on the evolutionary changes he claimed occurred as time passed.

The evolution Darwin spoke about is due to two factors. Darwin argued the first factor is that each animal is marked by subtle differences or variations from its parents. The second factor is that, although variations are random, some convey distinct advantages, such as superior camouflage, a heartier constitution, or more speed. Darwin stated, these variations would better equip a creature to survive in its environment. This greater chance of survival allowed for more opportunities to breed and pass on the advantageous traits to a more significant number of offspring. Over time, Darwin believed the advantage from this new trait would spread throughout a species, and in turn, the species would be more likely to endure and reproduce. Thus, according to Darwin, subtle changes accumulate throughout many generations, eventually morphing into more significant changes and, possibly, even a new species. He further believed, because of the theory of natural selection, that over time, only the strongest of these species would endure because the most robust species would survive, and the weaker species would become extinct. He also suggested humans evolved from apes during this evolution process and were not a part of the original progenitor set of animals.

We will notice things differently if we look at creation from a biblical aspect and not Darwin's views. First, man was created and did not evolve. Also, we do not know how long a day was when God was in the creation stage because, according to the Bible, God created the sun and moon on the fourth day, and time is measured by the earth's movement around the sun. Notice how our perspective concerning time is from our location on the earth while orbiting the sun. God's perspective of time is from God's location, and His perspective is not earth centered. God is not in orbit around the sun. Now, looking back at the first three days in the creation story of Genesis, how long was a day before God created time for humanity? We do not know the answer to this. Therefore, some of the aspects of Darwin's theory could be true, and God may have allowed some creatures to adapt over time to specific areas where they live. Satan rarely comes out with a flat-out blatant lie. He likes to mix in a bit of truth to make it more believable. During a day on God's timetable, one type of tortoise may have adapted to live in different climates, but it did not evolve into something else altogether.

Darwin saw some of the truth in God's creation and tried to explain those truths in a manner that left out the Creator. However, one species did not evolve into another species. Darwin believed a small number of creatures were the origin of every animal now living, and in the biblical creation, God made every creature and had Adam name them. Darwin believed man evolved from primates and was not initially a part of creation.

Concerning Darwin's theory of evolution and the theory of natural selection, if we believe man came from primates, why are there still primates? Why did they not become extinct, and why are there no new life-forms of animals being discovered today? We may find a new bird species in the Amazon jungle, but it is still a bird. No new life-forms are evolving. In Darwin's theory, only the most robust species is supposed to survive, so why would there still be apes if man evolved from the apes? What happened to the dinosaurs? Wouldn't you think they were strong enough to survive, or did they become very tiny, like the horny toad? How is that a survival of the strongest? It makes a lot more sense if you place a creator back into the equation. God hung all the stars into place and did not lose one. Darwin's theory of evolution concerning creation is from an earth-centered or worldly belief system and does not try to explain the rest of the universe. God said He created the universe so humanity would be in awe of Him.

The big bang theory. Let's look further into the creation of the universe. Some scientists today describe the creation of the universe as the big bang theory. In the simplest form, the big bang theory states that all matter, present and past, came from a single event 13.8 billion years ago when an explosion happened. Some scientists believe all present-day matter was created from the matter that existed before the explosion. To make this easier to understand, I will call all the matter that existed before the explosion Matter A, and after the explosion, the matter will be called Present-Day Matter.

According to the big bang theory, all the former matter, Matter A, that existed before the Present-Day Matter came to exist is compacted into a small ball with infinite density and intense heat, then this ball of Matter A exploded. Wow, that belief causes me to come up with several questions, like how did this Matter A come into existence in the first place? Or how do you explain a ball like this?
