Introduction
If you are eager for a fun, exciting, and artistic way to study and grow in God’s Word, this creative Bible study is for you. You will learn in a step-by-step process how to journal God’s Word with art. You will find yourself craving to study God’s Word as you learn to illustrate His word in your Bible. This study will not only dig deeper into God’s word but will also train you in simple ways to share His Word. You will find that you are memorizing Bible verses without trying. You will be able to look back at your journey into God’s Word and see your growth as a Christian. I have experienced this personally and witnessed it in my friends.
(A note to the leader of the life group: Where indicated, you will read aloud to the group or ask someone in your group to read aloud.)
What Is Bible Art Journaling?
What is Bible art journaling? It is using artistry to illuminate God’s Word. In other words, it is drawing in the margin of a journaling Bible on a specific scripture or scriptures. Bible art journaling is a bold, creative, and colorful way to study God’s Word.
There are many specific Bibles that are designed and available for Bible art. Generally, Bible artwork is completed in the margin of a journaling Bible (a Bible with two-inch margins). Originally, Bible journals were used to write sermon and study notes.
For me, it makes God’s Word come alive. When I first began Bible art journaling, I couldn’t wait to get into the Word to study, design, draw, and illustrate the scripture. I still get the same feeling of excitement as I’m getting ready to start a new journaling entry.
I hope that you come to enjoy this artful approach to studying and sharing God’s Word in a bold way as much as I do.
The Ins and Outs of Bible Art Journaling: What You Need to Know
(Leader, please read the following to the group:)
I feel God has given me a certain talent that should go to His glory, and that is Bible art journaling. If you don’t consider yourself an artist, don’t worry. I’ll take you step-by-step through this process. I will even draw it for you (at first, anyway). Each week, you will be exposed to a different chapter in
