    Introduction

Funny how everyone seems to remember their first love. Sometimes it’s their only love but not in my case.

Our youthful experiences have stayed with us for life! Ah, to be young, vivacious, energetic, naive, and so very impressionable! There is really nothing that compares!

Our relatives, friends, faith, surroundings, circumstances, and opportunities give us a perspective never to be abandoned. Just a sweet smell of a favorite food or cologne or a favorite view or an old sweet song can bring back a flood of memories.

The first twenty-one years may be nearly a third or at best a fourth of your entire life! Parents think getting off to a good start is very important; should I say some parents or most parents want their children starting well? The variables are the education, the sports, the arts, the religion, the culture, the location, the acquaintances, the family life, and the time span.

Jesus tells us we must be like little children with all the innocent true untarnished love and open heart to enter His kingdom. Actually, in Luke 18:17 Jesus says, Verily I say unto you. Whosoever shall not receive the Kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

God’s great commission for us is to tell the world of His great love, sending His only son to die so we can have forgiveness of past sins. Think what a loving world it would be if we just followed His ten commands to love Him and love others without being unfaithful, disobedient to parents, murdering, stealing, or lying. It’s all about love, but it takes a while to recognize that fact sometimes and of course there are all kinds of love. This story is an example of just that youthful, blissful sort of love.

Ann babysat me in Santa Clara. She was a kind Indian lady who did laundry and polished her white work shoes. Her husband sat in his chair and did not seem happy. Ann helped Mama put out the fire in the trailer. There were curtains by the
