About this ebook

This book is about the Bible, a synopsis of God’s communication to people. The primary goal is to get the reader to delve deeper into the work and find their own answers and communiqué from God. The style of the book contains scriptures from the Old and New Testaments together.

It’s important to couple the prophecies and events of the Old Testament with the fulfillment of the New Testament in Jesus Christ. I want to hone the readers’ thoughts to a greater understanding, a relationship with God through His son Jesus, and the great gift of salvation this offers all people who accept. This book is written so that all people can understand and implement that childlike faith he requires.

The Bible is a simple but complex book that can be understood easily but yet offers one the depth of study associated with spiritual growth.

If a person seeks God through this book and ultimately the Bible, they will find God. He promised they would.

    Preface

    Astral Curve Afterthoughts Afront

Why did I write this book? Journey. The Lord leading; me following. The journey He wants to take you on, all of us on. He is waiting for you to get on board. How? Seek Him. His word says that if you do that, you will find the truth. Peace, you’ll have it; wisdom, as He dispenses. God reclaimed me, and I began reading a couple of verses from the Bible daily and praying. Then He said read the Bible through in one year. I did that for ten years straight. For five years, He prompted me to underline certain scripture. Next, I’ve written two books encompassing the entire scripture. This is the second book, and its sole purpose is to turn lost, dead people back to eternal life through Christ. That is my job as a disciple of Jesus; that is also your job. My prayer is that people will read my words and be prompted to pick up the Bible and begin their journey. What did God say? Seek me and you will find me. How? Must be His Word. Our Bible, coupled with your sincere faith, and He will reveal Himself to you through His story. The theme all the way through is Jesus and His redemption, prophesied in the Old Testament and revealed in the new. I found that God is massive creative, loving, and severe. This is His creation, and so are you. Think of it like this: everything is in the palm of His hand. All the squirming, scheming, sinning, and lying—all in the palm of His hand. One day we’ll meet with our Creator. Will you have Jesus as your counselor and defender? Make sure now while you’re alive, and He’ll stand with you in eternity. Pray it into reality.

    1–1–17 Genesis 1:1–2

God told us how things started. He did it, and it was good in His eyes. Adam and Eve walked with the Lord. Wow!

    Matthew 1

God shows us the human generations, but also that Jesus was the supernatural son with His royal blood.

    1–2–17 Genesis 3–5

Man gets the boot out of God’s paradise. God didn’t create Adam and Eve as robots. Man made a bad choice. But man lived on and prospered, populating the earth.

    Matthew 2

Prophecy from the Old Testament concerning the Messiah fulfilled in Jesus. The magi (probably informed by Daniel) knew about and were looking for the Messiah, but the Jews seemed oblivious to this: unbridled evil from Herod.

    1–3–17 Genesis 6–8

Here we go. Evil. His creation is evil, and the females had sex with angels to produce even more evil beings. Solution: God sends the water and kills everything on earth, except for Noah and the animals. But after all this, man is still evil.

    Matthew 3

God sends John, a kind of Elijah, to prepare people for Jesus. He tells the truth, and they flock to hear it. He preaches repentance and baptism. Jesus comes to him for baptism, which John does, and pleases God bigly.

    Genesis 9–11

God loved only Noah of all the people on the earth; but after the flood, and through Noah, He repopulated the earth. However, these new ones did the same evil things, causing God to confuse their communication with one another. Then they scatter and continue the repopulating.

    Matthew 4

Jesus overcomes the temptations of Satan. Important. His human nature was tempted like ours. He overcame, and with His help, we can. Jesus then begins staffing His mission (the disciples). He moves to Capernaum and begins to preach the word of God and heal all kinds of ailments in the region. His fame quickly spread.

    Genesis 12–14

God loved Abram, chose him, and blessed him bigly. Why? Don’t know, but He did. Was Abram a perfect man? No. (Egypt) Abram and Lot were so blessed they had to separate. Lot’s choice put him in peril with the locals. Abram saved him after he was taken prisoner in war. Melchizadek, who was he? Abram paid tribute to Him and a tithe.

    Matthew 5:1–26

Jesus tells us in detail how to live. He is unequivocal. Be humble, righteous, meek, merciful, pure. Rewards in heaven for living this kind of life. Be a shining light of Jesus through yourself. Don’t hide it. Jesus is fulfilling, not changing, the laws of the Old Testament. He said if you are angry with anyone without reason, you will be judged accordingly.

    Genesis 15–17

God makes a covenant with Abram and changes his name to Abraham and continues to bless him. Man’s plans. Big problem when Sarah decides to take matters into her own hands. Enter Hagar and, eventually, her son by Abraham, Ishmael. God promises Abraham and Sarah a son, Isaac; but he is one hundred, and she is ninety! God also gives Abraham’s descendants the land. No question this is an eternal gift. Ishmael’s descendants will be a problem for themselves and everyone. God institutes His rite of circumcision. Abraham does what God directs.

    Matthew 5:27–48

Jesus explains: No one is without sin. Do not swear by anything. If you say yes let it be yes, and the same with no. Do what you say. Don’t seek revenge and be willing to help and forgive your fellow man. Love those who hate you and treat you badly. Pray for them.

    Genesis 18–19

God met personally with Abraham, ate with him, and promised him and Sarah a son. Abraham was one hundred, and Sarah was ninety. She heard God and laughed to herself, but God knew. He said, Is anything to hard for me? Then God sent the two angels to Sodom, for the stench of their evil and perversion had reached Him. God saved Lot and his daughters, destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, and led Lot to a mountain cave. Lot’s daughters got him drunk, slept with him, and started nations that were always against the Jews.

    Matthew 6

Perform good deeds for God. Don’t be showy and arrogant. Then He gave us the model prayer and emphasized forgiveness. Don’t worry and fret about the future or past, but seek His righteousness and all things will be covered by Him.

    Genesis 20–22

Abraham continues to tell powerful men that Sarah is his sister, but God continues to intervene and protect him from himself (Abimelech). As promised, Isaac is born, and Sarah kicks Hagar and Ishmael out, with God’s blessing. But He saves them in the desert and blesses Ishmael. God tests Abraham with Isaac, and Abraham passes and pleases God bigly. Abraham signs a pact with Abimelech and settles in Beersheba. The Lord will provide.

    Matthew 7

We are not to judge. If we do, it will be done to us. But also be discerning, knowing good from bad fruit, how one is living. Seek Him with all your heart, and you’ll find Him. Jesus said there were only two roads for man: one with many on it that leads to eternal damnation, and one leading to eternal heaven with Him. Many will fall short who speak as if they are serving Him. Do you really think you can fool God? Build your life on Jesus, the solid rock, and be saved when the storms come. They’re coming.

    Genesis 23–24

Sarah died and was buried in Hebron. What is obvious is the respect Abraham enjoyed from the local people. They knew God was with him. Abraham sent his servant to get a wife for Isaac from his people. Kinfolk. God miraculously provided Rebekah. God was continuing to keep His promise to Abraham.

    Matthew 8

Jesus continued healing and teaching, saying to the Jews, Many believers will come to Me from all over the world, but the unbelieving, including the Jews, will go to eternal hell. Jesus demonstrated to the disciples that He had power over everything, including wind and sea. Even the demons acknowledged Jesus as the Son of God.

    Genesis 25–26

Jacob and Esau are born and, like most siblings, totally different. Esau was not a serious man, not deep thinking. God also blessed Ishmael and made him a great nation. He had twelve sons just like Jacob. God continues to bless Isaac, and even though the neighbors persecuted him, Isaac showed patience and the Lord blessed him.
