    Midnight Celebrations - Christopher Hollon

Following the Skins game against Dallas was their bye week, which was perfect timing as far as Aaron was concerned. The team had given everybody a few days off after their victory and since he was already in town, Aaron could spend some time in his old stomping grounds—see some family, maybe some old friends. He had always imagined that he'd have time when he was a pro to go back home and buy a house—but it never worked out that way. During the season, his life was a mix of practice and study that didn't give him much time to himself. Even in the offseason though, he found the life of being a star was still pretty busy. He spent a lot of time still working out, doing commercials for his endorsements, even a little modeling and photoshoots (he had never minded showing off his body). Never seemed that he had enough time to go home to Texas—but with these days off after the Dallas game, it was perfect.

His parents were glad to see him and, of course, so was everybody else in town. He was a hero to all the locals—the small town kid who had made it big. The attention didn't bother him. He'd flash his smile and sign some autographs for some of the town kids, which pretty much made everybody happy. He'd seen a lot of familiar faces, but it was a name that got him the post.

You remember your friend Jerrod that used to come by sometimes? his mother had asked innocently one afternoon. She was stirring a pitcher of iced tea while he leaned lazily against some cabinets.

Hearing her mention Jerrod' name immediately knotted his stomach up. He definitely remembered his classmate that had seduced him more than a couple of times into letting him work over his chiseled body. He also remembered the nervousness he had about Jerrod, because sometimes he wasn't as discreet as he should be. After a slight pause, he nodded, Sure, ma. Why's that?

Oh, well, I don't know whether you ever kept up with him—but he moved back into town. He's settin' up an office on Main Street. I think he bought a house just outside the city limits.

His stomach loosened up as he realized it was just casual gossip about an old friend, nothing more. He shook his head, Nope. Lost track of him when I went to UT. I heard he went to Baylor, but that was it. What kind of office is he setting up?

He's an accountant, I think. His daddy loaned him some money to start up his office here, since old Don Blankenship retired. You remember him? He had some legal troubles...

And off she went, onto story telling about the old town accountant who had managed to get himself in some troubles with the IRS. He only vaguely listened, nodding in all the right spots as he thought about Jerrod. When they were younger, as much as he enjoyed getting off with him, the other man always drove him crazy. He was practically in love with Aaron, even though he knew
