About this ebook
"Love Letters From Hades" is a collection of poems that follows Hades, King of the Underworld, through an entire year cycle. The dichotomy of the Goddess of Spring and the King of the Underworld is a trend that has stayed relevant through the centuries. How a man who rules over darkness finds love and softness in the beauty of flowers. These poems explore the changing of the seasons as well as the personal change Hades goes through. From his grief and doubt in Spring to the rekindling of his love in Autumn, there are poems for each and every soul. In these pages, you'll find comfort during your darkest days, as well as hope that tomorrow will be a little bit brighter.

Love Letters From Hades - Emily Brandt
Introduction
The story of Hades and Persephone is one that transcends the test of time. Something about it grips us in a way that much other mythology hasn’t.
––––––––
The dichotomy of a Goddess of Spring and the King of the Underworld captivates us. It’s a theme we see repeated over and over again, even in modern literature. If you go to your local bookstore, you’re bound to see one or two retellings of this myth on the shelf.
––––––––
In this book, you’ll spend a year with Hades. From his utter despair and loneliness in the Spring to his rebirth and rekindled love in the Winter.

I hope these pages bring you comfort and the knowledge that even the darkest of nights turn into the brightest mornings.
The Myth
Persephone was a beautiful and sweet young Goddess. Demeter, her mother, and Goddess of the Harvest was incredibly protective of her, like mothers often are.
––––––––
Hades, God of Wealth and King of the Underworld, was in search of a wife. He saw Persephone and immediately fell in love with her. After asking permission from Persephone’s father, Zeus, they made a plan for Hades to kidnap Persephone and marry her.
