- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5What a cliffhanger? Good thing I have part 2 and 3, so I can find out what the heck is happening.I am a little confused and wondering what direction this story is going to take. I am not loving it right now, as I always expect so much from anything CH. Hoping it gets better as it goes.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5What are the chances that I would unknowingly pick up two amnesia story lines in a row? Well...I have another amnesia story for you, only this couldn't be any different than the last. Never Never Part 1 (we will get to the part 1 through 3 **** in a minute) is romance first and foremost, but with a ton of mystery behind why Silas and Charlie have lost their memories at the same time. There is something bigger going on behind their pasts and their past love story is nothing that it appears to be.A couple who have a long time connection, who now don't know themselves or each other makes for an interesting romantic setup, and the crafty writing makes it come alive. What makes this story truly great is how, in the most unlikely of circumstances, the romance seems believable. The love connection unfolds naturally for such a short book. There is no insta-love here.I spent my entire time with the story hoping for a believable reason for the duel memory loss, but never got a reason at all, because the book is written in three parts, which I find extremely annoying. You have all heard me say that I expect a full conclusion with any book that I invest time in, with a teaser if there are other books in the series. Because Silas may be my favorite hero of the year, because of my love for the story, and because of the answers that I still seek, I will continue with the other books, but make no mistake about it, I feel like I have fallen into a marketing scam. This story that is written in three parts could have been written in one decent sized book, or each book could have easily been developed into a full length novel within the series. Either way, the story is beautiful and I admittedly like the faster pace that the novella offers...I just want a complete story!!!There is this huge cliffhanger that I know has really left some readers frustrated, but I actually love where this story is going, although again...It should have been included all in one book! This is one of those stories that you have to go into with the commitment to follow through with the entire three book deal, because you will NOT be getting a complete story in book one, which is the sole reason I am giving this book, that easily could have been a favorite, that easily deserves 5-stars if I were basing it on only what I have read so far, is actually getting 4 stars.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I am so confused.

This was an intriguing read about love, lies and deceit, and it certainly kept me wondering why/how Silas and Charlie lost their memories. As for the ending, what a cliff hanger!! Had I known that the sequel won't be released until May this year I would have held off reading it. Can't wait to see what happens next. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Never Never by Colleen Hoover & Tarryn FisherPart 1 of 3, novella seriesCharlie Wynwood is startled to attention in 4th period History class by someone dropping books near her feet. She looks down to see a strange-looking girl they call "The Shrimp" staring at her in fear. Charlie herself is frozen, as she has no idea where she is or even WHO she is. It takes several people saying her name before she even figures out they are talking to her. She's too afraid to tell anyone what's happening because they'll think she's crazy. It's not until she looks into the wide dark eyes of a boy in her class and recognizes the same blind panic she's experiencing that she feels like she may have found someone she can trust. Silas Nash has been playing along, acting like everything is normal, after suddenly being thrust into a role he doesn't know how to play. What the heck is happening? And who is he? Why can't he remember anything after 4th period when he saw The Shrimp backing away from him? Thankfully, his girlfriend(?), Charlie, confronts him with questions that make him realize she's facing the same strange circumstances he is. Together, by searching through scrapbooks, papers, retracing their steps over the past few days, including visiting places on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, they work together trying to find answers, all the while trying to reconcile their "new" feelings for each other as they find out more and more unhappy truths about their lives before their memory vanished. This is part 1 of 3 of a novella series. It grabs your interest immediately. I'm excited to learn what happens next.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Never, NeverNever again2 starsI read this book solely because of its description. It wasn't recommended nor did I have prior knowledge of it. In short, two friends who doesn't know they have a past together (fb/gf)become amnesiacs at the same time, without warning. They remember some things but not who their parents, siblings and friends were. Nothing was explained and the story ended, but that was "probably" due to the fact that it's a series, which was never mentioned. I'm sure the other books will properly tie things together but I won't be reading them since I was underwhelmed by this one.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Okay, well, here I go...
With this book, we don't know what exactly we are getting ourselves into. Let's be honest. The synopsis doesn't really give anything away. It leaves the plot as a mystery... Well, it is a mystery. Truly it is...
So, I can't really tell you what the book is about. For real. I can't. I haven't quite figured it out yet. What I can tell you is exactly what the synopsis does. Forget. Remember. Those are the keys words in this story. It's like groundhog day on crack. Except, the reliving over and over again has meaning... What kind of meaning? I DON'T FREAKING KNOW... so stop asking!
We do get to know the characters though. Silas. The boy everyone loves... But really, he is a bit of a penis. Charlie. The girl everyone loved, but now loves to hate. They are in a relationship. Or were they in a relationship? Either way, there was a relationship. What happened? Again, I don't really know. I have my suspicions, but I really don't know.
This part of the story is the beginning... well the middle really. Giving you all of the past and present pieces, not necessarily in order, to a greater puzzle. The big mystery. The big question. With every piece we get, we have yet another, "WHY?". I asked that so many times while reading this.
Ugh. I was suckered in. Right from the first sentence. Hook. Line. Sinker. SUCKER! And if I am honest, I am not mad (maybe a little) or ashamed. I loved every freaking second of this book. I was left with more questions that fathomable. No answers. So I sit and stew until I can read the next book. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Over the last couple of years, I’ve purchased several Colleen Hoover books for my Kindle. The funny thing is, the more I kept hearing about them, the less urgency I felt to read them. Sometimes I’m just weird like that–not in a hurry to check out whatever is trending. Big mistake this time–HUGE–because this book is brilliant, and I have no doubt I will enjoy the rest of Hoover’s (and Fisher’s) books. Why did I wait so long to jump on the CoHo bandwagon?!I love a good mystery, so Never Never sucked me in from the get-go. It begins with a disoriented Charlie who has no clue where she is or who she is. She quickly realizes that she’s a high school student and must go about her day gathering info (such as her own name) from fellow classmates in hopes of understanding the haze of confusion she’s under. Things become even more interesting when Charlie realizes she’s not alone. Silas, her apparent boyfriend, seems to be suffering from the same inexplicable memory loss. From that point on, Charlie and Silas know they have to work together to figure out what’s going on.This story is fast-paced and written in a way that made me feel like I was watching a movie. Now that’s good writing. Pieces of the puzzle are expertly revealed via the alternating perspectives of Charlie and Silas. Not only was I dying to find out what has caused the couple to lose their memories, but I also wanted so badly to know the status of their relationship. You see, they’re a couple, yet they aren’t. What’s even more intriguing is that their relationship seems to be tied to whatever has caused the memory loss. Now, even if I was one to share spoilers, I wouldn’t be able to in this case because you have to buy parts two and three to find out exactly what’s going on! And that’s the only gripe I have with Never Never. It ends with the worst possible cliffhanger EVER! Or maybe worst isn’t the right word. Maybe I should say best because I one-clicked part 2 immediately. If you enjoy mystery, suspense and young, rapturous love (and don’t mind cliffhangers that require you to purchase subsequent parts to find out what happens), I highly recommend Never Never.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5SO DIFFERENT!!!
I adore everything Colleen Hoover writes but wasn't sure going into this one...but she & Tarryn Fisher hit this one out of the park! They immediately grabbed my attention and never, never (sorry couldn't resist) lost it!
My only complaint is the cliffhanger. I NEED PART 2 NOW!!! - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5My heart was skipping a beat with every page. Honestly, it’s still racing when I think about this story. When I’ve reached a cliffhanger, I said to myself, it’s all lies, darling, until I opened the last page and saw to be continued. So now I'm pretty pissed off. As we all know forgetfulness, mental confusion, and memory loss, as you get older, is inevitable. It’s a natural process of aging. Our memory is fascinating and works in a unique and complex way and can hold an indefinite amount of information, but if it’s damaged, we don’t know what kind of functions may stop working. It could leave us with a blank space in our memory for a few minutes, hours, maybe years. Some of the things can impair memory loss for a while, but what happens when you completely forget who you are at the young age, you are still in high school and your lover is in the exact same situation as you? This book should come with the personal note – can cause side effects like frustration, sleepless nights, gasping for air and a feeling that you have been on drugs. Apparently it has been cocaine because Never Never was terrifying, addicting and so so good. This book is fast-paced and progresses rapidly.Charlie and Silas, don’t remember who they are since Monday morning. Both of them are totally confused and don't know what’s happening. In the short time, observing how people interact with them, Silas and Charlie understand that they are a couple. It seems that the only secure way not to look crazy is to play along and pretend that nothing has happened while trying to find the clues and pieces that explain this madness. It’s not easy because now they are complete strangers to each other and ourselves. At this point their journey just begins and a lot of secrets wait for them on every corner.I might blame this book for any possible addiction because I’m anxious how everything will work out and I have a feeling that this can either be a total hit or miss situation. These two characters are worth each other as no one else, and damn, I wish I could tell you more, but it becomes really tricky. Hoover doesn’t disappoint this time with a romance part that is equally enthralling as the mystery that surrounds Silas and Charlie. Did I love the plot? Hell, yes. Did I like relationship dynamics? I can only say - please, give me more.“My drawers are neat. I must have OCD. I toss around the socks and underwear to see if I can piss myself off.” I could perfectly discern on which parts the authors have worked, and I think Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher have just entered the new oceans with this project. I hope this collaboration won’t be a one-time thing, because, well to me it was damn perfect and Colleen Hoover earned my respect again. This story grips you to the core and doesn’t leave you until the last page. Knowing that May is on its way slightly calms me down, but I really think I will develop OCD in upcoming months because I don’t know what to do at this moment anymore. I’ve already been throwing socks into a wall for two hours and it pisses me off.The unlikable heroin, nice guy, both sinned. Is their past that horrible to remember everything?
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Colleen Hoover can do no wrong in my book but I've never read anything by Tarryn Fisher so this was a book I was hesitant to read. I LOVED it!These two are the real dream team and create the perfect blend of passionate, deep romance and dark, twisted suspense. This is a book that is best gone into not knowing anything at all. The ending is awful in the best way possible, leaving you feeling like you need the next book like you need air.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I'm gonna keep this one fairly short because this is a hard book to review without spoiling anything. The blurb is intentionally vague and this book is only about 140 pages long so there's not a whole lot to discuss. I read this in one sitting which is unusual for me because I have young kids at home. It grabbed me right from the very first page and had my captivated until the end - if you can call it an end.Tarry Fisher wrote Charlie's chapters and Colleen Hoover wrote Silas's. They have very different writing styles but it works really well here. Many times, books written from multiple perspectives can become confusing or the "voices" are too similar and blend together. Here, they are distinct and it's easy to know which character you're reading. I won't go further into the characters because it will give away the basic plot of the book and I don't want to do that. You'll see what I mean if you read it.As for the plot itself, the idea is an interesting one and I had absolutely no idea where they were going to go with it. It's a little bit suspense, a lot mystery, maybe a hint of paranormal. The problem is, it ends so abruptly that the reader still doesn't have any idea what's going on or where the story is leading. It felt more like the first third of a book than a novella in a series. Usually, even in a series, some things are resolved while other questions are answered. Here, almost nothing is answered and you're left with even more questions than you started with.Overall, this book was exciting, very different and compulsively readable. While the ending was not at all satisfying, it has definitely left me eager for the next in the series. One other note: many people have classified this as New Adult. I think that's more because of the authors' other works than because of the content of this one. The main characters are both in high school and I would definitely classify it as YA.
