DEMENTIA AT 47 ‘How could I have it SO YOUNG?’

I stood on the train platform, frozen to the spot.

How can I possibly step over that huge gap? I thought.

The distance between the platform and the train seemed vast.

At 49, my spatial awareness had become awful – I just couldn’t judge distances or depth.

It meant I also had difficulty judging how far away cars were when crossing the road.
