    Dragon Impact - Elena Kincaid

    CHAPTER 1

B race for impact, the captain shouted over the intercom. Georgia remembered her years of training as a flight attendant and did just that, but somewhere in the back of her mind she heard the words, and then kiss your ass goodbye .

The private jet she was currently working on was hurtling toward either a very large mountain somewhere in the arctic—the scenic route from Iceland to Alaska she was so excited about taking—or if they were very lucky, the plane would take a nose dive into the ocean. Either way, they weren’t going to make it.

Engine failure? You motherfucker! she heard a male voice shouting. Angel’s voice she thought. The man who’s face and deep silky voice had been occupying her mind since meeting him the day before. Now she’d never have a chance with him, or the chance to daydream of him at least.

The other engine was gone now, too.

She wanted to yell at him to get back in his seat, but she couldn’t find her voice, and by the time she noticed what he was doing, he had shot up so fast with his fists clenched and was already on the other side of the plane. He dove at Lazaro, the man who this jet belonged to, and began to pummel him.

Lazaro raised his arms and crossed them to protect himself from the blows, but he made no move to stop the infuriated Angel. She didn’t blame him. At that moment, Angel looked quite terrifying. She wouldn’t have wanted to mess with him either.

Stop! Stop! she yelled, finally finding her voice. You’ll kill him. Not that it mattered. They’d all be dead soon enough.

Georgia looked over at Carol, the other flight attendant strapped to her seat, and saw that the woman was passed out. So much for her training, Georgia thought. Although, her death will probably be far more peaceful than Georgia’s.

Oh for fucks sake, came the final passenger’s voice from the back of the plane. Chloe, Lazaro’s statuesque sister, got up from her seat and calmly walked over to the two men. Don’t be so dramatic, Angel. I did it.

Both men turned to her in unison, and shouted, Why?

You’ve destroyed my fucking jet, Lazaro shouted.

Chloe plopped down in the seat opposite her brother, back facing Georgia, and shrugged one shoulder. I was angry. I’ll buy you a new one.

What the hell was wrong with these people? The plane was about to crash and they were calmly discussing buying a new jet as if Chloe broke some simple toy. Apparently, they were rich enough to buy a new jet as easily as someone would buy a new pair of pants. But what the hell did that matter now? You’d have to fucking live for that to happen.

Why’d you think I did it? Lazaro asked Angel. Georgia noticed he didn’t have a scratch on him.

    I thought you wanted her.

So this was about a woman? Georgia wondered, feeling the sting of rejection. So much for thinking yesterday and today’s flirting was anything more than just that. Georgia closed her eyes and shook her head in disbelief. Why should any of this matter now anyway?

Lazaro snorted. Not my type. And even if she was, I certainly wouldn’t sacrifice my jet for her. I’m really pissed off at you, sis.

    You’ll get over it.

But I won’t, Angel said to her through gritted teeth.

    How could you want that—

Don’t even finish that godamned sentence, Chloe. You’ve gone way too fucking far this time!

Georgia opened her eyes. I must be in shock. It appeared as if Chloe sabotaged her brother’s plane and sacrificed all of their lives, including her own because she was angry that Angel
