Chapter 1. Meeting of the Teacher and the Slave

World of Cronus, Kingdom of Akaria, 712 Age of the Sea

In the World of Cronus, on the planet Cronus, the Kingdom of Akaria was located. It is located on the Central Mainland between the western Kingdom of Victorianica and the eastern Ainika Empire. Located between two countries with amazingly rich cultures, Akaria has absorbed their peculiarities, and now represents a mixture of styles.

Also, Akaria had access to two seas at once. The kingdom occupied an advantageous strategic position, many trade routes intersected in it. Traders from different parts of the world arrived in Akaria by sea and land. Everywhere could buy various goods: fabrics, spices, decor items, jewelry, magical artifacts.

The mixing of the cultures of the West and the East gave birth to Akaria's amazing own style. And along the streets of various cities of Akaria, residential, trade and economic buildings, and administrative buildings towered.

The mixing of styles was reflected in the preferences in clothes of the inhabitants of Akaria: they followed the fashion trends of Victorianica, Ainika and other countries. And at the same time, they created their own unique things, with interesting styles and patterns.

The capital of the Kingdom of Akaria was the city of Kanna, facing the sea of Ilma. It was a picturesque place that also combines a mixture of cultures. Mixed-style buildings towered along the streets. Ships from different parts of the world came to the port of Kanna. Trade flourished. People from different countries and parts of the world communicated with each other.

The royal palace towered in the center of the city. In ancient times, it was built of wood. Once every few centuries, rulers from different dynasties rebuilt the palace at their discretion. Several times the wooden palace suffered from fires (sometimes, the summer in Akaria was very hot and dry, and the fire was merciless).

But three hundred years ago, one of the kings of the Twilight Dynasty, which had ruled the country for seven hundred years, decided to put an end to this. And after one of the summer fires (albeit not very strong), he gave the order to rebuild the palace of stone.

Thus, in the center of Akaria, a beautiful palace of gray-purple rare stone, which lies in the family domain of the Twilight Dynasty, gradually began to be built.

The construction of the stone palace was not completed under the King, who started this enterprise. But the construction was successfully completed by his daughter, who became Queen (in Akaria, a woman could inherit the throne).

And so, a beautiful palace of gray-lilac stone towered in Kanna for three hundred years. Its appearance represented an amazing combination of styles, and its beauty was striking.

Recently, the city of Kanna, like the rest of the World of Cronus, has been rapidly changing. Scientists have discovered electricity. And safe electric lamps have replaced gas and magic lanterns. The telephone was invented: it became so convenient to contact those who live far away! True, the telephone was still expensive, but having saved up money, a middle-class citizen could buy it. Radio and gramophone records won the hearts of people (they were also not cheap, although within reason). And trains powered by magical steam engines made it possible to move quickly and comfortably between cities...

... A new day was beginning in the Kingdom of Akaria. The Thirteenth School Teacher of Literature was returning home from work. She was about twenty-five years old. And she was a girl of average height, neither skinny nor fat, with dark shoulder-length hair and dark eyes. Someone would find her beautiful, and some would not. In a word, the most ordinary girl.

Her name was Alisha. But in Akaria, as indeed in Victorianica, Ainika and many other countries of the World of Cronus, there was one custom: not to call a person by real name. Only close relatives called each other by name, and then when they were at home.

In ancient times, it was believed that knowing the real name gives magical power over a person. Of course, magic has long been studied and ordered, like any other science. And all educated people understood that knowing the name does not give any power. But the old custom still existed.

Therefore, people called each other by occupation or origin. For example: The Twilight King, The Twilight Princess, Captain of the Royal Guards, West Market Fishmonger, or Thirteenth School Teacher of Literature. However, nicknames by occupation were often shortened. And the students simply called Alisha: ‘Teacher of Literature’.

However, in the personal documents, the person's real name was still listed. But it was
