About this ebook

Not exactly a book, however, for anyone writing a story series, as well as for anyone wanting their work to be adapted into other media (TV/Film/Streaming) having the "lay of the land" parsed out not only for the writer's reference, but for other co-creators to consider, can be a real help. It wasn't easy getting all of this together yet I'm so glad I did it. Most likely this format can be improved upon by other writers, however, I offer it here as a good start to organizing your creative vision as your characters take you further down the path of your story (whether it's a long novel or a series of stories like Casebook). After all, it's the characters who write the book. We just take dictation and do the proofreading.

Isabeau Vollhardt

Isabeau Vollhardt received her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and English Composition from the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington, in 1980, where she studied Novel Writing with Charles Johnson, and the Philosophy of Science Fiction with Michelle Beer. She was exposed to the poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke in a class on Existentialism presented by Eva Hagemeyer. A longtime reader of Victorian era authors such as Arthur Conan Doyle, she was writing The Casebook of Elisha Grey in part as an homage to Doyle and in part as a result of her readings of esoteric works on Atlantis, when she began studies at Samra University of Oriental Medicine in 1991. Graduating with a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine and receiving licensure to practice acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, she then went on to receive training in Reiki, reaching level IV (Seichem) Reiki training. Energy work and intuitive work in a variety of realms have been part of her personal and professional life since 1985 and encompasses study of Kuang Ping style taijiquan, shuilong qi gong, feng shui, clairvoyancy, Western Astrology, Native American journeywork, and Iai-Batto-Ho. Her experiences resulting from her shui long qi gong practice resulted in a volume of poetry which is now published: Songs of the Water Dragon / Poems for Plants & Planets / and Others. She lives in Ashland, Oregon, where she has practiced Chinese Medicine and taught tai chi, qi gong, and Chinese Medicine theory since 1997. Her short story "Farewell at a Graveside" was published by Innisfree Magazine in 1990. She continues writing with her focus on speculative fiction, and an occasional poem, because 'poems happen'.www.facebook.com/pages/TheCasebookOfElishaGreywww.facebook.com/pages/IsabeauVollhardtEarthboundMysticwww.isabeauvollhardt.netwww.imdb.com/isabeauvollhardt

If Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, an esotericist, drew on memory of another lifetime when writing The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, and if he remembered Atlantis, then approaching Atlantis as a historical place, not merely a speculative one, was a natural course for me.

I began by reading the texts cited above as I drafted The Casebook of Elisha Grey, first put to paper in the late ‘80s/early ‘90s. Donnelly’s text, often derided by scholars of various scientific disciplines, provides a sense of location and time. Phylos the Thibetan's novel described technology in Atlantis during a time that would be similar to Victorian England – when old ways and new inventions alike informed and affected daily life. Waters' controversial record of Hopi wisdom, which describes four migrations to Turtle Island (the North American continent) by citing the first one as red planted the seed that Turtle Island was first populated by a significant part of the Atlantean diaspora, and therefore, they would resemble Native Americans & Indigenous Peoples of the Americas. Consequently, this project provides a large number of roles, including principal and major roles, for Native American & Latino talent.

In writing these stories, I strive to keep a historical rather than speculative approach, so that the stories feel as if they are records of events that happened in a real time and place long since gone. As one
