Speak Hebrew For Real: Advanced II
()
About this ebook
With this level, all future tenses in all Binyanim have been covered thoroughly. This book contains over 560 new words, among them 70 adjectives, 40 slang words, 47 expressions, and a 100 new verbs. Since you are now at the advanced level, I took the liberty to introduce many more new words as compared to previous books. Special attention is given to syntax, phrases and idioms that require more than just a simple translation.
As with previous levels, the book contains ample exercises and answers to the exercises. You'll find many wonderful short stories and dialogues. The book contains Hebrew-English and English-Hebrew Word lists.
My purpose is to teach you the language that most Israelis use in their day-to-day lives. Don't get discouraged when you run across stories with words you don't know. I've given you the basic foundation of the language on which you can build a very strong house.
Being in Advanced II does not mean you have almost reached the top. It is at a level where you could communicate like the average Israeli speaker. There's one more level to this series that concentrates on important syntax such as subjunctives, copula, verbal nouns/gerunds and many basic phrases, idioms and slang. Knowing well what I have taught you in this series, you'll be very comfortable, certain and excited to reach higher levels.

Speak Hebrew For Real - Ruti Yudovich
על הספר
Speak Hebrew For Real, Advanced II covers the following:
Future tense of Binyan Pa'al in all of its groups. Future tense of Nifal לה; Future tense of Heet-pa-el ל
ה.
This level contains over 560 new words plus many idioms, slang and expressions.
In addition to the New Words introduced in each chapter, I'm giving you additional words that can also be found in the Word Lists at the end of this book. All verbs in the Word Lists are written in the present tense form; adjectives are written in both genders; nouns are written in their singular form unless they are irregular, in which case I give you also the plural form.
New words are shown in bold throughout the chapter in which they are introduced. Proper Nouns, words borrowed from other languages are written in italic.
Verbs in מילים חדשות, are written in Present Tense, singular and the infinitive form.
Accent: When the accent of a word is not at its usual location, i.e. on the last syllable, the location of the accent is noted in the New Words list with an apostrophe. i.e., סֵ'פֶר
Since you are now at the advanced level, I took liberty to introduce many more new words as compare to previous books. Take your time to learn them thoroughly. If you encounter a word later in the book that you forgot its meaning don't get discouraged. Just do the usual: use the word in many sentences until you feel you own it.
Specific words, idioms, slang that can't be fully understood just from the translation, get special attention.
כֵּיצָד (איך) להשתמש בספר?
Whenever you learn a new word, make at least 10 sentences and say the sentences aloud. Learn the new vocabulary thoroughly before you continue to study the rest of the lesson (unless that word or idiom needs special attention). Each time you run across new additional words learn them thoroughly as you encounter them.
IMPORTANT: You will find additional new words within each chapter. Although these words do not appear in the מילים וביטוּיים חדשים
(New Words and Expressions) list, study them as if they were part of it. Most of the words under the New Words
are there because they require extra explanations and exercises, whereas most nouns and other words do not. I made sure that I do not use any word that has not been previously taught. All the vocabulary here is based on previously taught words in Speak Hebrew For Real levels.
IMPORTANT: Words have more than one definition. In this book I give you the definitions that are more commonly used. As you progress you will find out additional definitions for the words that you know.
Spoken Language Has to Be Heard.
SAY it. SPEAK it. It is essential to read aloud. When you use your sight (reading), motor (writing, speaking) and hearing senses you are watering the soil in which you have sown the seeds (words, grammar) and thus you will end up with a flourishing field.
It is STRONGLY recommended that you own Hebrew Binyanim, the Easy Way to get the basic skeleton of the 'why' behind the ROOTS and understanding the characteristics of the Binyanim (structures/buildings). As you learn new verbs refer back to the meaning behind the family (binyan) in which the verb is found.
Welcome to Speak Hebrew For Real
Advanced Level II
The purpose of this series is for you to be able to speak Hebrew like the person on the street. It is not meant for you to fully understand articles, newsletters, high level Hebrew, poetry and even children's books (I've found children books to be quite difficult books, as for whatever reason, they are written in poetic Hebrew). My purpose is to teach you the language that most people use so that you will be able to talk and express yourself freely. Therefore don't get discouraged when you read a story and run across many words that you don't recognize. I've given you the foundation of the language on which you can build a very strong house. Being in Advanced II does not mean you have almost reached the top. There's one more level to this series, and with only knowing well what I have been teaching you, you'll be very comfortable.
NOTE: Most of the instructions and explanations are in Hebrew. Even if some of the words or forms were never introduced as part of the מילים חדשות, reading them over and over, you'll end up knowing them without a hitch.
NOTE: The instructions given in this level are in the plural form of the modern command form (which is also the form of the Future Tense).

תרגיל 1: תִּלְמְדוּ את ההֲטַיוֹת (conjugations) שבטַבְלָה (chart) ותְמַלְאוּ את החָסֵר (fill in the blank) לפי (according to) הדוגמאות.
