About this ebook
Trapped in a loveless and unsatisfying marriage, Lily dreams of more. She craves danger, excitement, and most of all, a man who will do more in bed than mount her like a goal in heat. She's heard from the loose women in town what a good time with a man is meant to feel like, and now that she's shackled to a wealthy man like a trophy, she feels she'll never know for herself.
But her prayers are answered when she escapes to the lake one night, and a man (or monster?) emerges from the dark water. He is not human, that much is sure. But he is well-endowed, and unlike Lily's husband, he is WELL up to the challenge of giving her all the pleasure she could ever want or dream.

CJ Byrd is a pen name, but the writer is real. I write reality-bending stories where monsters, magic, and unlikely or taboo scenarios become tantalizing possibilities.

Lillian didn’t love the man she’d married. He didn’t love her, either, she knew. The match was arranged by a woman whose job was to pair well-bred ladies to men who could afford them. Lily was such a well-bred lady, although she wasn’t sure her husband could afford her. He’d managed, somehow. Their wedding two weeks ago had been in a beautiful church and appropriately lavish. Her new husband owned a business and a house in the big city. He had gone there after their honeymoon, while Lily had returned to her family home to pack her belongings and prepare for her new life. Her room had been stripped bare and put into trunks by a legion of maids, who had passed the trunks to several footmen who had transported the trunks to a carriage. Tomorrow she would board the carriage and set out for the city. She was dreading it so much that she could not sleep.
Her wedding night had been the most disappointing in all her twenty and two years. He had mounted her like a goat and brayed like one as he came. She knew what an orgasm was, having read books she was not supposed to know about, and had learned to touch herself in the bath when the maid was gone and also at night, alone in her bed. She knew from the loose women who gossiped on certain street corners what a good time with a man was supposed to feel like.
Her wedding night had been none of that. Now she was expected to join her husband in the city for a lifetime of such disappointments, interspersed with pregnancy, embroidery, and playing the pianoforte for guests.
She would much sooner drown in the lake.
And so that’s where she went, slipping out into the cool night air and walking silently across the estate lawn to the bicycle she had stashed in a
