- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Feeding the Flying Fanellis is a book of poems all based on the food that a chef cooks for the various circus performers. There were various styles of poems but they were all rhyming which is what children will identify with. The illustrations were amazing. It gives the children a great insight into what a circus is really like. In the story we see trapeze artists, bareback riders, a human cannonball, tightrope walker and more. You do not need to read this book from start to finish. Each page or poem stands alone. This is a great book to introduce poetry to young children in a fun way.
