About this ebook
A mysterious black wolf haunts the forest of Crimlas, stripping the woodland of its beauty and preventing the people of Rothum from harvesting the Mirimae flower—a rare and powerful medicinal plant they have relied on for centuries.
Despite all efforts to kill or rid of the Black Wolf, its decade-long reign persists, as those who desire to hunt it never return home…
Eighteen-year-old Loraline has lived in the devastation of the wolf's presence since childhood, watching the sick and wounded die needlessly each year without the Mirimae flower. A month before her wedding, her own grandmother falls gravely ill, and Loraline knows she cannot live under the plague of the Black Wolf any longer.
After donning her blood-red cloak, Loraline sets out in the heart of winter to discover the Black Wolf's mysterious origin, as well as the weakness that will finally bring its destruction once and for all.
Become immersed in the harrowing journey of a young heroine who heeds the call of destiny to end the reign of a fearsome and mysterious black wolf no one can kill...

Erika's first memory of her love for writing comes from elementary school, where she was given a small (but very exciting!) blank book to fill as an assignment. In the years since, she's written all kinds of stories throughout middle school, high school, and college, and in 2022, she decided to finally become a published author.Erika keeps her inspiration fresh by writing about flawed and courageous characters in fantasy, romance, and thrillers. Some of her favorite activities are campfires, movie nights, and looking at dreamy coastal homes online.

prologue
The shadows of the trees had darkened each year like the hope of my village and many others that surrounded the once lively Crimlas forest. After the Black Wolf arrived to dwell inside it ten years ago, less and less people had the courage to venture within, and all brave souls who sought to kill the wolf never returned home. My memories—and those of others—held the only remains of the lost beauty of Crimlas before it was overtaken.
As a child, I played within the safe, friendly trees, their leaves glowing as sunlight graced them, their bark richly colored and wondrously intricate. The tall grass patches were soft and lush, providing a home to insects that glinted like gold as they flew from one spot to another. Deer, foxes, birds, and other small animals made their home throughout the vast and plentiful sanctuary, some feasting on plants that were difficult to
