    Fourth Dimension - Mohneesh Kalyan

    PREFACE

I had never thought of writing a novel. Whatever I had learned, studied, I have tried to put it in the script of films or engrave it in the stage plays, but there was a part which I never had engraved in any of the film or a story. It was, Tantra, I have read books on numerous subjects due to my inclination towards reading since my childhood. Tantra and astrology books were also amongst them. With all the studies keeping in mind, at first a story started to take a form and when did that story become a novel, I realized only after its completion. I often used to read about superheroes, they were also fictional, seen in movies, read in comics, somewhere in my mind I always had a thought that there must be a hero who helps people with the Tantra powers, who would save them from the troubles and will become a hero. From this thought the hero of our novel Pratyaksh was born. Now what more can I tell here? So, let's start with the novel Fourth Dimension, full of supernatural adventures, extraordinary personalities and Tantra powers.

    Chapter 1

    CANVAS

Weather too it gets nasty sometimes, pleasant sometimes and negligent sometimes, exquisite sometimes and pathetic sometimes. Such was the rage of today’s weather. The clouds were thundering and the sky was lightning. It felt like hundreds of flood lights were flickering at the same time. It felt like all the waters the clouds had fetched yet, is going to be discharged today. According to weather Bureau Nashik has not witnessed such a rain in last 20 years. From 9 since morning the rain has started as it won’t be going to stop. It felt like whole Nashik has stopped. The lives had gone bonkers by the rainstorm. Everyone was waiting for the rain to stop, but the rain didn’t show any mercy to stop. It was not the monsoon; else everyone would have taken it as usual. The whole Nashik, was feeling like, it has been shunned. Only a handful of vehicles were on the streets. Folks were either at their offices, or at their homes, or wherever at the shelters they could have gone. The time was about 2 in the noon.

Nashik degree college, the classes were going on, but the college felt abandoned as no one was in the sight. Only 4-5 football players of the college squad were playing on the ground without irking about the rain, however the ground had water filled inside. With every kick the ball bounced, and with it the water splashes along. To enjoy this may be the lads were playing without bothering about the rain. Some were jamming in their groups at their classrooms, the professors too today they got an excuse to not conduct the class, as they could not make it to the class. Some students were at the corridor, some hanging around the gallery fancying the rain and watching lads playing football. The hidden corners of the college have become the favorable grounds for the love birds today, as today no one was around. Where some were sitting leisurely at the stairs as they won’t be leaving for ever, be spending their whole life there, or somebody was over the call yelling,

The moment rain stops; I would flee!

There someone was calling others to pick them up, whilst for certain peeps their favorite place while it rains is - Canteen. In canteen such certain peeps were cherishing and sipping their hot tea with hot puffs.

A guy, in the canteen, on a certain table was sitting there alone, his name was Pratyaksh (Pratyaksh was a 21-year-old young man, healthy physique, clean shaved, 5 feet 10-inch-tall, a handsome chap, well dressed who had his hairs combed well). After taking their order from the canteen counter Soniya, Vijay and Motu headed towards the table where Pratyaksh was sitting. They put their trays on the table then Soniya smiled half-heartedly to Pratyaksh and sat on a chair, Motu and Vijay seated too. Motu, was the one who looked roly-poly, plump and stout, could be found gulping every time, said,

    Where’s the chili sauce?

Wait, wait! Pratyaksh blurted just don’t cry, I am bringing that now.

Canteen had a rush today and a fuss. Pratyaksh fetched the chili sauce, handed that to Motu, and sits. Motu engaged himself drenching his puff into the chili sauce and gulping and Vijay who was a decent fellow, scholar, with specs, was also having his tea and puff. Soniya, a suave girl with her hazel eyes, fair, usually with her curls tied, well suited and often was a playful and teasy beautiful girl, who today was looking restless.

Pratyaksh offered her tea and a puff then asked,

What happened? You feeling tensed? Do not worry the rain will stop soon and even if it will not then anyways, I will drop you home… We can call a cab… for now cherish the hot tea and the puff in this rain.

Soniya didn’t reply to this, instead she looked at Vijay with confusion.

Vijay, said to Pratyaksh, Hey Pratyaksh! We aren’t going for that college trip, to visit the caves!

Pratyaksh, looked at Vijay and nodded, then to Soniya, but what’s there to be worried about, Soniya?

Vijay tells it is not about going home. It is about going from home. She is worried about the college trip.

Pratyaksh, asked to Soniya, Why? What’s the matter? Are your parents not allowing you?

Vijay tells, No bud! Her parents didn’t say anything, instead they always agree to her stubs and besides they are very supportive.

Motu hinting towards toward the puff, if you guys aren’t having it, can I, have it?

Pratyaksh, peeked at Motu, hands him his puff and asked Vijay, Then?

Vijay told, the rain… It isn’t stopping, That’s why!

That’s what I said. There you were denying.

Soniya lifts her bent head and gazes into Pratyaksh’s eyes with a huff and said, because, if the rain is going to continue till the day after tomorrow then our college trip is going be cancelled and sat sullenly.

Motu stood and spoke, I am getting one more puff and being back and without getting the drift of the moment he left to get the puff.

Pratyaksh remarked, Who told you the rain is going to continue till day after tomorrow?

Suddenly the clouds thundered. Soniya tipped over the clouds and said, Them, further the clouds thundered harder, Soniya remarks again, See, still there.

Vijay said to Pratyaksh, you handle this out bud! I will be back after attending the lecture.

Vijay knew there isn’t any lecture today, he simply wants to leave them both alone, while leaving he pointed to Motu,

    Let’s roll!

Motu pointing towards his Puff he said, in a minute… Finishing this off and coming.

See you then… I am outside. he replied and left.

Motu brings his puff. Soniya hits him and said, he yearns only to eat, didn’t even bother about the trip, even the Vijay doesn’t, he too has fled.

Pratyaksh suggested. But I am listening, tell

    I just said.

Pratyaksh assures Soniya, till the morning day after tomorrow, the clouds would be gone and the sky would be clear. I guarantee this in front of everyone in this canteen.

Pratyaksh said this a little louder. Others were looking at him. He smirked at Soniya foolishly. Soniya was piquing him with fury.

Hey! I am not fooling… look… and shows her the weather forecast in his mobile.

    **********

It was 7 o’clock in the evening

The surroundings were filled with water. With the rains now the winds too started gushing high. Not even the day after tomorrow, it felt like this rain is not going to stop till the next week.

For the College’s educational trip everyone was excited. But Pratyaksh… uncertainly he was worrying about the bizarre imaginations of the disasters that could happen. He dusted his worries off nothing is going to happen as if he said to himself.

    **********

The next day the rain has faded. Still the waters were on the sight. And the fuss in the city as to yesterday was alive. Today even the college seemed alive. Though a certain students and teachers didn’t appear today. For a certain student love for their college is far beyond than their love for studies. In those the four - Motu, Vijay, Pratyaksh and Soniya belonged. They all were at a table in the canteen with Soniya. Soniya today was distressed as she was yearning for the college trip. Else when will she get another chance with Pratyaksh to be outside. She doesn’t want to lose the chance and otherwise too she was keen for the trip. It had been 4 o’clock in the canteen sitting and playing ludo.

It's time to home. Vijay has booked a cab. Let's roll! Let’s be home. Pratyaksh said to Soniya, Soniya looked at him, then to please Soniya Pratyaksh said, Please do not take tension, there won’t be any rain tomorrow for sure.

Suddenly a cloud thundered. Pratyaksh looks at the clouds and said laughingly, Such a worse timing for the clouds to thunder. and they all started to laugh.

Vijay announced, the cab is here, lets bounce.

They all cautiously without getting wet jumped inside the cab. After getting into the cab Vijay says,

First drop me… then Pratyaksh, then Soniya and Motu can go together…. as you guys live close.

Pratyaksh listening to that, stops him in between and said loudly,

No! I would be the last. pointing towards Vijay he told, First you, then Motu, then Soniya then me at last.

Motu teasingly, Got it… got it… no need to yell.

Pratyaksh handling the situation, as he thought he got caught, Man! The clouds are thundering, that’s why, and I have a responsibility to make you guys reach home in this weather, then only I can go.

Pratyaksh said in a way, it felt like he is elder to them. Vijay and Motu pulled their faces, shared a glance and smiled to each other.

Soniya was irritated because of the rain. Hitting Motu on his shoulder she says. Sit properly Motu, the whole cab is not for you.

Pratyaksh laughs and said to the driver, brother, take that right from ahead.

Soniya was still sitting tensed. Pratyaksh while looking outside he speaks, God knows when would the rain will end! then suddenly it strikes his mind that he has said to Soniya that it's going to be over soon and now he himself is worrying, he turned back towards Soniya and she was staring him with rage. Pratyaksh smiles and turns back ahead.

Till then they reach Vijay’s home, Vijay to the driver, That’s it, there, stop it over there. Vijay sees off everyone bye and he rushed from the cab to his home and after getting into his porch he turns and said bye to all of them. They all waved him bye.

Motu to the driver, let’s move now. Driver geared the car and they moved ahead.

Pratyaksh as Soniya was sitting angry, he pleasingly said, I reckon the rain has faded, and it will stop by midnight.

To that the driver replied, How Sir! Instead, it got heavier, it won’t’ be going to stop for next 2-3 days.

He glanced at the driver but said nothing. He was watching Soniya. Soniya was frowning over Pratyaksh. She held her head with displeasure and sat with her head down. Motu was over his phone listening songs. In next 5 minutes they reach Motu’s home and there he got down from the cab. Now Pratyaksh and Soniya were left.

Why were you lying? Soniya asked Pratyaksh.

    What did I lie?

That the rain is going to stop… it is fading… blah blah blah.

It wasn’t a lie; it was the weather report.

Insofar they reached Soniya’s home. Soniya to the driver,

    Take the cab inside.

Cab entered the gate of a magnificent Mansion and stopped in front of a portico. Mansion was splendid Pratyaksh kept looking at it. An epitome of British architecture. Flowerbeds laden with various flowers all around. Oozing the vibes of a historical structure. Soniya lived in such a mansion Pratyaksh didn’t knew.

Come Pratyaksh! I will introduce you to my family, said Soniya to Pratyaksh and hinted him to come along, Come… have a tea before you leave… then to the driver she said, Hey! You too can come inside… you can drop him after tea.

Before the cab driver could have
