On the first Christmas Eve, all heaven trembles with excitement. Angels scurry to earth to sing the joyous tidings of Jesus’ birth, and the Star of Bethlehem sparkles high in the heavens. One small angel hurries to catch the rest of the choir; in his haste, he brushes against the Star of Bethlehem and knocks some of its star seeds to earth. The tiny bits of light fall from the heavens to spread magic all over the earth.
A charming children’s tale, The Star Seed tells the story of one small special star and the loving gift it brings to the Christ Child. Author Mary Alice Fontenot has carefully crafted an appealing story of the first Christmas.
Nannette Cregan’s illustrations, which were completed when she was only six years old, add an innocent simplicity to the work and allow children the opportunity to identify with an artist of their own age.
