Did you see the way he was looking at you? John asked.

Megan was standing beside her husband picking at a plate of carrots and dip. She looked up and glanced around. Who?

They were at the company picnic and John nodded towards Derek whom he noticed had been glancing at Megan more than once.

Megan glanced across the short distance to the punch-bowl table and spotted her co-worker Derek. The short answer was yes she had noticed. How could she not? All women were aware of Derek and his gorgeous angular face, broad shoulders and pale blue eyes. Derek was what the women around the office called ‘man meat’.

He was twenty-six, and if Megan remembered correctly he had just broken up with an aspiring model. Apparently, the gossip was the model didn’t like his rigorous gym routine and demanded he stop. Poor girl. Derek liked working out and had the physique to prove it. Not that Megan or any of the other office girls minded. Derek was a dreamy catch and one she had fantasized about many times in private.

Oh him? Megan replied feigning confusion. That’s Derek. He’s just a friend. You have nothing to worry about sweetheart.

John seemed mollified but still eyed Derek with suspicion. If I didn’t know better, I’d say he has the hots for you. Why does he keep looking over at you?

Megan battered her eyelashes and laughed in a way that suggested John was being overly nervous for no reason. I dunno, maybe I have food on my face.

I kind of feel turned on by it, John said.
