It’s so hot, Heather muttered to herself as she leaned up on her shoulder and grabbed a magazine to use as a fan. The air she blew in her face was stale and warm and didn’t help matters at all. It was the beginning of June and the heat was already stifling. Heather tried her best to deal with it by staying close to the large oval pool in her backyard and taking regular dips but it was still quite difficult to get to be out there in weather like this but Heather wanted a tan and she preferred the natural method over tanning booths or sprays.

She was about to jump in the pool again when she heard the front door slam. The noise was followed by the sound of her son. Mom, we’re home, he yelled from inside.

I’m out back Jason, she yelled back and sat up to greet the two men. The sliding door opened and out came her stepson Jason followed by his friend Eric. Jason was back from college and he had brought Eric along to visit without informing his mother. They had just showed up thirty minutes ago before jetting off to the store to pick up some beer.

Oh come on Jason, it’s not like I’m out here naked. It’s just a bikini.

Her son had always been the bashful kind when it came to his step-mother and would get embarrassed and red anytime he saw Heather in anything that revealed the tiniest bit of skin. The blue bikini top and bottom she was now wearing made sure that his face was a deep shade of crimson.
