Connor Whiteley

Hello, I'm Connor Whiteley, I am an 18-year-old who loves to write creatively, and I wrote my Brownsea trilogy when I was 14 years old after I went to Brownsea Island on a scout camp. At the camp, I started to think about how all the broken tiles and pottery got there and somehow a trilogy got created. Moreover, I love writing fantasy and sci-fi novels because you’re only limited by your imagination. In addition, I'm was an Explorer Scout and I love camping, sailing and other outdoor activities as well as cooking.Furthermore, I do quite a bit of charity work as well. For example: in early 2018 I was a part of a youth panel which was involved in creating a report with research to try and get government funding for organised youth groups and through this panel. I was invited to Prince Charles’ 70th birthday party and how some of us got in the royal photograph. Finally, I am going to university and I hope to get my doctorate in clinical psychology in a few years.

Jacob And Daniel - Connor Whiteley

    CHAPTER 1

Jacob James sat around a large ugly plastic table in the university library as he stared at his phone watching a concert by one of his favourite pop artists. If anyone looked at him then they would just think he was studying like the amazing student he was, because he had skillfully hide his phone behind a very thick(and rather interesting) psychology textbook.

It wasn’t that he didn’t like studying, Jacob really did. But he seriously loved the beat, dancing and singing of his favourite artist. And surely university students were allowed a little break from time to time?

With today being the last official day of university before the study leave and the exam season for everyone, Jacob was just looking forward to the exams and more importantly what happened after them.

After three great years of undergraduate studying his favourite subject in the entire world, Jacob was really, really looking forward to going on to study his Masters in clinical psychology, or mental health as he explained it to everyone.

Thankfully there wasn’t too many exams standing between him and his ideal summer.

In less than a month Jacob and his amazingly sexy boyfriend Daniel would be spending their last summer together before Daniel went off to another university for his PhD, whilst Jacob stayed behind.

It wasn’t exactly a topic Jacob liked to think about too much.

The library smelt rather good today with massive delicious hints of hot chocolate, coffee and piping hot sausage rolls coming up from the canteen on the bottom floor. Jacob had already bought himself a couple of hot chocolates to keep him going, and he was definitely going to have to grab himself a wonderful strawberry doughnut too before he left, that left the sensational taste of strawberry jam form on his tongue.

People quietly talked, tapped away at their computer screens and tested each other all around the library as all the other students tried to be as well prepared as possible for the upcoming exams.

Jacob wasn’t too concerned in the slightest really. He had done really well in his coursework so they would definitely help support his grades if he didn’t do too well in his exams, but he had a hopeful feeling that he would be just fine.

The sound of someone carelessly tapping their pencil on the ugly table made Jacob just look at his two best friends that were sitting round the table too.

He didn’t really know why Claire with her long blond hair, white blouse and jeans was studying in the library considering how much she casually complained about it being not to her tastes. And her house was very quiet (unlike Jacob’s) so Jacob flat out had no clue why she was here.

The same sort of went for Violet with her dark purple hair, dark tattoos covering her exposed arms and black dress. Her house was literally as quiet as the grave but Jacob guessed that Violet wanted to be amongst the living for studying at least.

Yet he doubted that guess for some reason.

Mr James, a man with a deep voice said.

Jacob rolled his eyes for a moment and he was just glad that whoever the voice belonged to wouldn’t have cared or been able to see the concert playing on his phone. Well Jacob knew exactly who the voice belonged to and he certainly had mixed feelings about it.

Professor Luke Ashley was the youngest Head of student Experiences the School of Psychology had ever had, and Jacob honestly liked the guy. He was funny and actually cared about all the students that studied psychology and he seemed to have a very uncanny ability to just know everyone by their first name.

So Jacob was a little curios to know why Professor Ashley was using his surname, unless it was something very serious.

Jacob turned around and smiled at the professor in his strange checked trousers, blue shirt and very uncomfortable-looking brown shoes.

Are you busy right now? the professor asked.

Jacob wanted so badly to roll his eyes but his parents had definitely tried to raise him to be as polite as possible. But that was next to impossible when Jacob knew the professor was going to be asking him to be something difficult or impossible.

That was one of the problems with working so closely with Head of Student Experiences last year when Jacob was elected as a student representative, or as he liked to call himself a voice for all his fellow students.

On the application form and posters, the university had made it sound great, amazing and wonderful, but considering how many meetings it involved, and all the bureaucracy, Jacob was just waiting to leave.

But at least Professor Ashley had started calling on Jacob less and less recently. It wasn’t that
