Judith Mitchell
Judith Mitchell was born in New York City into a family of professors whose apartment walls were lined with BOOKS! Her parents frequently read fairytales, myths, and classic children’s books aloud to their children – there was fortunately no TV! Although she now does have a TV, she remains devoted first to books and is an avid reader, about myriad topics. She has a BFA from Chatham Univeristy in Pittsburgh and did graduate work in archaeology and art history at Columbia University (New York City). Her professional art career began in illustration ~~ fantasy, myth, and science fiction ~~ for which she has won prizes. She has also illustrated numerous children’s books and written several stories of her own; this is her second book in publication. She has done freelance illustration for many of the major publishing houses. At this point Judith is involved in her own art projects, including painting, writing, ceramics, mask-making, unusual beading, gardening, and always exploring new venues and mediums. She is also a shamanic practitioner. Judith currently lives close to the ocean in Maine, with her husband Rick, and two rescued cats and one rescued dog. She is an environmental activist and a trained facilitator for the Pachamama Organization.

Book Review
The writer uses the reader’s mind to play and think around the circles. Applause for the words that are easy to understand, It’s the choice of words that amazes us, and convinces us that it’s the kind of adventure that we, like Alma, would go on.
