Deadly Consequences - R. M. Russell

The Organized Crime Boss
In March 2010, Cashman pleaded guilty to money laundering and aiding and abetting and was sentenced by a federal court judge to 60 months in federal prison and ordered to pay a $20,000 fine. He was remanded into custody following that sentencing hearing.
According to documents filed from May 2004 to approximately August 1, 2008, Cashman was part of an interstate prostitution ring advertising their business on the Internet under the guise of an escort service. Women provided the prostitution services, traveling from Texas to numerous cities including Chicago, New York City and Boston, to engage in prostitution with men solicited through Internet advertising.
The defendants in this case laundered their ill-gotten profits in order to fuel the continuation of their illicit Internet-based prostitution enterprise,
according to a Special Agent in Charge of the IRS Criminal Investigation Division Field Office. These sentences should serve as a deterrent to those who might contemplate similar criminal conduct.
The prostitutes were paid for their services by credit cards and cash deposited into an account controlled by Cashman at Bank of America. The proceeds from the accounts were used to promote and perpetuate the interstate prostitution enterprise by purchasing airline tickets, hotel accommodations, and paying advertising expenses. The prostitution proceeds were also used to make a down-payment on a luxury automobile and to make payments on a home. Both a Bentley and the home were used by Cashman as a backdrop for photos used on Internet ads that promoted their prostitution services.
The financial transactions noted above were financial transactions involving financial institutions and affected interstate and foreign commerce. The transactions were made with what Cashman knew to be proceeds from interstate prostitution and transactions were conducted for the purpose of promoting and carrying on the interstate enterprise.
Did this sentence deter Cashman from similar conduct? No, it did not. Instead, he expanded his interstate and international organized crime syndicate to include robbery, forceful entry, kidnapping, terroristic threats, aggravated assault, threats using a deadly weapon, trafficking, and murder.
Cashman was arrested and charged with similar charges as above in November 2021 and has since accepted another plea deal with federal prosecutors in June 2022. At the time of the writing of this book, he is still awaiting formal sentencing by a federal judge.
Does anyone think this little bump in the road and another couple of years in a federal penitentiary and a couple of years of probation will even slow down this organized crime syndicate? The government will take what property and funds they can locate, slap him on the wrist for all the lives he has ruined and all the destruction and carnage he has caused, and pat themselves on the back for what they consider to be a job well done.

The First Encounter
Michael was surfing the internet one day and came upon a site for an erotic massage. He went for a regular massage a few times a month anyway so, he made contact and soon after made an appointment for a massage. He wanted to be safe, this was his first time for an erotic massage, and he did not know what to expect, so he thought it would be safer to set the appointment at his place of business. The online organization agreed to the location and, that eased his anxiety level a bit. He felt everything would be okay.
It’s at my job, lots of people around and we have police on-site if there is a problem.
Michael was a nurse working in an administrative position at a large hospital, so there were always a lot of people and security around. Well, the appointment day came. It was on a Friday afternoon. He went out to meet the massage therapist; and to his surprise, there were two of them.
They were young and attractive, and he thought, Okay, two for the price of one.
He walked with the women into the building past security check-in and into his office. Everything seemed normal at this point, so he was feeling pretty good about his decision, even though he hired the massage therapist on the internet. Cinnamon told him to get undressed for the massage, so Michael complied and stripped down to his boxers.
So, there he was, stripped down to his boxers, ready for a massage, and he jokingly said, Hey, it would be nice if you both undressed as well.
Then, Cinnamon told him to sit down in a chair; and Sapphire leaned over and stated, Oh, you didn’t think we were prostitutes, did you?
Shocked and confused at what she said, he replied Of course I didn’t think you were prostitutes. I really did not know what to expect from an erotic massage, but we are at my place of business, and I want to keep things professional.
Then they told him they wanted $5,000 each or they would start screaming rape. Michael was stripped down to his boxers, sitting in a chair, and now the two women are demanding a large sum of money. The two women began digging through his office. At this point, he was scared and confused at what was happening, with all kinds of things flashing through his mind and none of them good.
They began threatening him, We will yell rape.
We will call the police.
They picked up a picture of Michael and his family and stated, That is a pretty little girl in the picture. Is that your daughter?
Michael replied, Yes.
Then Cinnamon said, If you don’t give us the money, we will traffic her. You know, guys just love little girls.
At this point, he just wanted them to leave. He told them he did not have that much cash. Cinnamon threw his clothes at him and said, Get dressed.
He complied and got dressed as fast as he could.
Cinnamon then said, You’re coming with us, and we’re going to your bank.
That’s when they showed him a gun that they had in a large leather bag that Cinnamon carried on her shoulder. There were patients and other employees in the building, and Michael did not want anyone to get hurt. He knew the situation could get even worse in a hurry since they had a gun. They took him to their vehicle and told him to get in the back seat.
Then Cinnamon asked, Where do you bank, asshole?
Chase,
Michael replied.
They started driving to his bank. The child safety locks were activated on the car door, and he couldn’t get out of the back door himself. He was trapped. At the bank, Sapphire opened the back door and told Michael to get out. Cinnamon showed him the gun again and told him to walk in front of her. They walked him into the bank, Sapphire beside him and Cinnamon directly behind him. Cinnamon told him he had better not mess this up and that if he did anything it would be his last mistake. Michael withdrew all the money in his account, about $8,000 and turned it over to Sapphire when they returned to the vehicle.
Cinnamon stated, That’s only $8,000. We need more money, and we will get it from you or your daughter, it does not really matter to us.
Cinnamon and Sapphire had noticed another bank card in his wallet when they rifled through it, and they proceeded to drive to the second bank. At this point, Michael was terrified, wondering if he would ever see his family again or would these two women kill him. If he could not get them enough money, were they going to go after his daughter? Was someone already going after his family?
Michael just knew, This is it. I am going to die.
Again, they got him out of the back seat and walked him into the bank. This time there was no money in the account.
Back in the car, they asked, Where is your money, asshole?
They were very upset and again began threatening him and his family. Trembling, Michael, said You have all my money there is no more, I can’t give you what I don’t have.
They drove around a little while, and then they stopped the vehicle in a secluded and shady side of town. Michael thought Oh, shit this is it, I am going to die. Will my family even find my body? Will these women traffic my daughter as they have threatened? Oh, God help me!
At this point, Sapphire got out of the vehicle, opened the car door, and said, Get the fuck out.
Then she got back in the car, and they sped off. So, there he was, standing in the middle of the street, trying to figure out where he was; but at least he was alive, so he began walking until he figured out where he was and then walked back to work. At this point, he was just happy to be alive, and the nightmare seemed to be over. He called his wife to make sure everything was okay, nothing going on out of the ordinary, no strange calls or vehicles outside, nothing. Why didn’t he call the police? These women had told him that if he called the police they would know because they have police working for them. He had no reason not to believe them when they told him that. Cinnamon told him that they would traffic his daughter and kill his family if he called the police. So, he went home and did not call the police and did not tell anyone, just thanking God that the nightmare was over and he was alive and his family was safe.

The Second Encounter
On a Saturday morning in November in north Texas, there was a slight breeze and the sun was shining bright. It was about 60 degrees. No better time than a Texas morning in the Fall. Michael took his wife and daughter to eat breakfast that morning, then went to get a haircut as his wife and daughter went to get their nails done. At this time, his family was living with his parents as Michael and his wife had just sold their home and were in the process of building another home nearby. After spending the morning with his wife and daughter, he returned home and then went jogging with his little brother, which he frequently did on weekends. After the Friday encounter with Cinnamon and Sapphire, Saturday was even more beautiful than usual; and everything seemed to be going great. He could not have asked for a better day. When Michael and his little brother got home, they both took showers to get all the pollens off of them, changed clothes, and then went to his little brother’s room to play video games. Then, late that afternoon, he started getting text messages from an unknown number. He tried to ignore them, but they just kept coming. Then he received a call, and it was
