About this ebook

Anyone that believes in ghosts is nuts!

That is what I thought, right up until Cathy, Ben and I decided to visit the old Yuma Territorial Prison on, of all nights, Halloween. Now I wish we had not.

Now I must accept that ghosts do, in fact, exist. And for some reason, they want to talk to me. Am I crazy?

We have a night of scary places and even scarier ghosts.

What or Who will we encounter?

This book contains spooky situations within a ghost story about teenagers and their Halloween pranks. It includes descriptions of apparitions, EVPs, disembodied voices, jail cells, strange sounds, and moving objects.

Ghosts of Yuma Prison - Kent Ogletree

    Chapter One

Iran into the bathroom in a hurry, brushing past my little sister.

I was going in there! she complained.

Too bad, slow pokes have to wait.

I checked my makeup and hair quickly. The purple star covering my left eye and silver hair coloring were perfect. The red dress was the icing on the cake. I would meet with my best friends, Cathy and Ben to see what trouble we could get into for Halloween.

Falling on a Friday this year meant we could be out later Trick or Treating. Yeah right, we had better things to do than beg for candy. We wanted to have some real spooky fun. Being a Freshman at Yuma High, there was no way I would hang around with my little sister all night. I would spend the evening with my friends.

Yuma High School’s mascot is a Criminal and the student body is known as the Yuma High Criminals. Everyone knows the story, in 1913 the Yuma High School football team traveled to Phoenix to play the Phoenix High Coyotes. Yuma High won even though everyone thought the Coyotes would easily win. The angry Coyotes players called the Yuma High players Criminals for stealing the game. The name stuck and ever since students at Yuma High has been known by the nick name Criminals.

Being a new freshman, I wanted to ensure they liked and respected me. That meant I needed to become one of the Criminals
