About this ebook

I nominate this second part as “Arruj Death”, who was the hero of the initial part of this life story. In this second part, Barbarossa continues citing the scenes where he lives with his brother Arruj. The major events took place with the Spaniards on the sea and on the land. The areas holding these incidents are principally Algeria of today including ‘ Algiers’ the Capital, ‘Jijel’, ’Bejaya’ and ‘Telemsan’.’ Tunis’ which is too the metropolis of Tunisia at that stage and now, held a considerable part of his tale for the strange facts that he survive. The east and west of the Mediterranean are involved too in his stories. ‘Fass’ city in Morocco and the south of Spain are introduced here.
The crucial event was the death of Barbarossa's brother Arruj in a battle defending his sons. He describes several personalities who had a profound influence on the development of the historic episodes. He talks about treasons that he got from men like ‘Ibn Alkadhi’ who took a space in the time chronicles of his autobiography. Other persons like ‘Massoud’, ‘Abdallah’ and ‘Kara Hasan were considered by him traitors against Ottoman domination in North Africa.
The Sultan of ‘Tunis’ and all the conspirators were allied with Spain against him and his brother Arruj. In this part two, the events on the land are comparable in the description to the ones in the sea with the ships. Barbarossa and his brother Arruj has the practice of the battles in the sea and in the lands and most of these fights were conquered by them except for two, the first one resulted in the beheading of Arruj after treachery by the Spaniards in their dealings with him. The second one was by ‘Ibn Alkhadi’ who arranged for them an ambush in a mountains way where Barbarossa lose 750 of his sailors and despite this, he survived with most of them.

    About the Author

Chapter 1: A Hard Attack To The Enemies’ Ships

The next day, I and my brother drove the two offered ships by Sultan ‘Suleiman AlKanuni’(The Magnificent). Each Ship has 27 seats and 16 Cannons. We moved off in 12 sea pieces; On the way, we took over a ship full of wax carrying 25 Infidels imprisoning 40 from our Andalusian brothers. We liberated all of them and we sent them on a ship with ‘Delly Mehmet Raiss’ to ‘Tunis’(capital of Tunisia, same name until today). I was always loving Delly Mehmet Raiss. He was a brave young man who never knew the fear. If he dueled 15 to 20 lonely, he will defeat them. We came to the Algerian ‘Bejaya’ harbor in 2333 sailors, ten ‘Kaderga’ ships,150 Cannons, and thousands of captives that we lay them rowing.

The Infidels held the ‘Bejaya’ fortress. We clashed with them in a battle for three hours and a half. We got most of them. When ‘AlBawadi Arabs’ (individuals living outside Bejaya) heard about us, they came with 20000 men to help us, but most of them were unaware of the fight’s arts. A bunch of kuffar (Infidels) barricaded themselves inside the fortress and they persevere in resistance for 29 days.

We were close to picking up the fortress. As we didn’t have the right Cannons models adopted to bomb fortresses, this prevented us from generating enough wide holes in it. An information about a huge Spanish Force was advancing from the Minorca island on her pathway to us. We left ‘Bejaya’ pulling back to ‘Jijel’ (in Algeria too) to survey the Spaniards. Finally, ten Spanish ‘Kaderga’ model ships appeared on the horizon, full of weapons and military material. My brother Aruj said: ‘‘ This is a grace Allah gave it to us". We attacked the Spanish ships with sailors, echoing the screams of praise. We collided with them in a tremendous battle ended by the capture of the ten Ships. Just 78 of the Spanish soldiers survived. We stuck them to the paddles to make them rowing.

Chapter 2: The War With Spain

We divided the Crusaders’ banners over the ten Ships. I ordered 500 men to drive them and heading to ‘Bejaya’. The Spaniards, who took refuge in the ‘Bejaya’ citadel, were waiting for the ten Spanish Ships to provide them with the supplies. When they looked at us, they supposed we were their religion’s brothers. They
