Chapter One
"It looks like Alex Foreman is over there.
Anita Parker turned to look in the direction in which her dad was pointing. Her heart beat even faster like it always did whenever Senator Foreman’s name was mentioned. Steve Parker could spot a story that would hit the headlines anywhere. Being the owner of The Herald, one of the most popular newspapers in Washington D.C, her dad could sniff out a good story better than anyone else that she had ever seen. Anita had lived her whole life around the world of newspaper reporting and publishing, and she did not regret it one bit. Unraveling a story, and especially one that that dwelt on politics was her passion, although she didn’t dig into corrupt politicians as it could lead to physical disaster.
I can't see him, dad,
she replied.
The ballroom was packed to the rafters, and it was hard to spot anyone. She had arrived at the party late, and had even missed dinner as well as the Senator’s closing speech, and she was not sure if at all he was still in the room. Everything about Foreman was always a sell out in the journalism world. He was probably where the biggest crowd in the room was. Everything about Alex was news, and not only because of his political principles. In politics he was considered one of the most vibrant people, and there was even gossip that he was going to vie for the presidency at some point.
Foreman was also one of the most handsome men that she had ever seen. He stood at six foot three, and he had thick jet black hair, his eyes the color of brandy. He was a gorgeous looking man who had both beauty and brain, something that most women found irresistible. He had aristocratic features right from his square jaw to his pointed nose, but the thing that made him stand out the most in most women’s eyes was the fact that he was single. He was available to the perfect woman who would steal his heart and make him marry her.
Anita was not interested in becoming that lucky woman, the only thing that she wanted was to uncover his secrets and make news. She was sure that he had some secrets hidden away, and one of her main aims was to uncover them. When it came to politics in Washington D.C., everyone had a dark secret hidden away in their closets, and those secrets were what sold papers, many of them.
I think he is about to take the elevator from the way that he is looking at them,
her dad said, he must be tired and is looking for some ‘him’ time.
Perfect opportunity.
She had been looking for an opportunity to corner him so that she could interview him, but with all his security making sure nobody got too close to him, it was proving to be hard. I know what I am going to do, I'm going to sneak up to top floor where his penthouse suite is before he gets there, and block his way until he agrees to give me an interview.
Now, that is what we call a real Parker.
Her dad winked at her, giving her a light peck on her cheek.
Anita smiled at him, and then squeezing his hand, she made her way to the private elevators that led up. She came to a halt when she saw one of Foreman’s security guards coming out of the elevator with a blonde woman with huge breasts and a short dress that left most of her body displayed. She did not sound at all pleased from the way that she was arguing with the man as he escorted her out of the room, holding her wrist tightly. She had probably snuck up to wait for Foreman upstairs, just like she was doing, but for other reasons judging from the way that she was dressed.
Anita waited until the security man disappeared, before entering the elevator and hitting the button to take her up. The walls in the elevator had mirrors, and she checked out her reflection. The long black dinner dress that she was wearing held tightly onto her curves, bringing out her shapely body. It was not her favorite piece of clothing, because she would have preferred to be in jeans any time. She had worn red lipstick that was shaded by a darker shade on the outer side on her lips, and her shoulder length hair was tucked away behind her ears.
She looked decently dressed compared to the woman who had just been escorted out of the elevator, who looked like a model straight out of Playboy magazine. Anita was nowhere near the other lady. She had nice medium sized breasts, although they were not as impressive as the other woman’s. The one thing that she had that the blonde did not have were well defined hips. Her waist dipped in to bring them out better in an attractive way. Another asset that she loved about herself were her eyes. They were green with a shade of blue around them, and her dad had always referred to them as her prettiest feature.
She had never been able to tell if the compliment was true, or if her dad was just pulling her leg to make her happy and cover up for the rest of her average body. But then again, she did not really care about how she looked, despite attending these functions for a couple of years, and Alex Foreman not even noticing her. Why should she care about how she looked? After all, she was just there to get an interview and then go home, not fuck him. At least that is what she convinced herself despite knowing the fact that any woman in Washington D.C. would want to be fucked by Foreman. The elevator came to a stop, and the doors slid open. She took a peek out of the elevator and breathed a sigh of relief when she noticed that none of Foreman’s security men were hanging around in the corridor. She walked out and went to stand by the window at
