Shelleann M. Brown
Shelleann Brown was born in Jamaica, West Indies, in 1976. After completing four years at the St. Joseph’s Teachers’ College, her pastor, Bishop Marcia Gale, assigned her to work with the Bible study teachers, Sunday school leaders, and new believers’ classes coordinators. Brown drafted a syllabus that created a more structured approach for each night’s study in the new believers’ classes. That catalog gave rise to her first book.

Introduction
Just as it is for a newborn babe, so should it be for a new believer in Christ. The process of nurturing ought to be done with patience, care, and godly love. A new believer is an individual who has recently declared Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their life and is about ready to give up their previous walk to follow where He leads (Matthew 4:19). This newness brings about a change of heart, mind, soul, body, and spirit.
Evangelism is not new to the body of Christ. As a matter of fact, it is an example set by Christ Himself and a commission left for us to follow in the church of the living God today (Matthew 28:18–20). Spreading the gospel throughout the world and inviting others to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior is our sole responsibility as disciples of Christ. After we have worked tirelessly to organize evangelistic services, we anticipate new souls to be won for the body of Christ. The same labor is needed to move them forward spiritually after they have accepted the call. Thus, the need for a simple handbook to help them along the way. Too often I encounter persons that have accepted Christ as Lord and Savior who are basically ‘left on their own to fend for themselves’. They wonder around with questions such as:
1. What do I do now?
If this is a concern of yours as a new believer, seek help from one who is having a consistent relationship with Christ. I promise you; the Holy Spirit will lead you to the right person (s).
2. Who do I speak with about this new decision?
Write your many questions, seek a meeting with your Pastor/Spirit Leader and share your concerns. They should put the necessary programs and individuals in place to meet your early needs (Acts 6:1-7)
3. Where do I go for help?
Go to a church whose core example is the Bible. The help that you desire at this time will be found in the Word of God. The challenges that you are faced with were also encountered by others in the church before you, trust me; they know ‘baby talk’ and can help.
4. Why do I feel so helpless?
Feeling helpless at this point in your new walk is normal; hence, "Casting all your cares
