Day 2

Two days have passed. It is now Saturday, August 4; morning time around 10am

Scene 1: Terrence’s House

Terrence, his mother Jocelyn, and Raya are sitting down for breakfast. Claudia moved in to Terry’s house to help him raise his daughter. She comes down for breakfast.

Claudia

Good Morning, everyone! Hi Mom! I didn’t know you were coming over for breakfast today? She goes over to the breakfast bar and helps herself to a cup of tea and also takes some waffles and fruit that have been left out for her. Sitting down at the table, she puts syrup on her waffles and smiles at Raya.

Jocelyn

Hi darling! I thought I would come by and have breakfast with you all this morning. Terry was just updating me on everything going on.....

Claudia

She takes her first bite of her waffle. Do you think that is wise, discussing it in front of......? She nods her head in Raya’s direction. Sunshine! How are you doing today? Claudia often calls her Sunshine because it is the second part of her first name.

Raya

I’m good, Mamma! She gets up from her chair and runs over to Claudia, giving her a hug, then goes back to her seat.

Everyone freezes when she calls Claudia mamma, something she never called her before. Claudia has taught her to call her Auntie. Terry almost spits his coffee out.

Terrence

Getting up from the table and walking over to Raya, he helps her out of her chair. Sweetie it looks like you’re done your breakfast, why don’t we have Shelly go and take you upstairs to brush your teeth and do your hair? The housekeeper Shelly grabs Raya’s hand and escorts her out of the room. Terry sits back down.

Could she have timed that any worse? She waits until Devon comes back in town to start calling you mamma?

Claudia

We knew that was going to happen at some point, Terry. But yea, awkward timing. She eats a strawberry with her fingers

Jocelyn

Holding her coffee cup up to her mouth, about to take a sip. I’ll say. You are the only mother she has really known, I mean the last time Devon was a mother to her; she was 1 years old. What are you going to do about Devon, Terry? Are you going to let her back in Raya’s life? And if so, to what degree?

Terrence

I wish I had that answer, Mom. Don’t you have any advice for me?

Jocelyn

Laughing No son, I don’t. I’m not experienced with this particular kind of situation.

Terrence

Thanks, Mom. He wipes his mouth and throws his napkin down on the table, leaning back a bit in his chair, looking despondent. She doesn’t know Devon; that’s the thing. But on the other hand, Devon is not going to let this go. She came here to be with her child, she will do whatever it takes to get her way. Has she given up on using her as a donor child for Keisha? I don’t know.

Claudia

Keisha is in full remission, she doesn’t need marrow or blood platelets or anything anyway.

Jocelyn

For now, she doesn’t. But with cancer, especially a blood cancer, you never know. That can change again in a heartbeat. She takes a sip of her coffee and looks at Terry. Have you consulted your attorney?

Terrence

Of course I have. He said I can stipulate when, where, and how often Devon can visit with her. I have full power, the courts will agree with whatever I decide and if Devon doesn’t comply, they will come down on her. He said she will probably try to reverse the ruling that she is not legally her parent, he told me to expect that fight........I don’t want to be a prick like this, I really don’t. I only care about protecting my daughter. I don’t know if I can trust Devon...... also I don’t want to confuse Raya, either. She has a mother in Claudia, how am I supposed to explain who Devon is?

Claudia

Well you need to find out if you can trust her.....

Just then there is a knock at the door. Terry goes to answer it and finds Devon on the other side. Looking at him solemnly

Devon

Hi, Terry.

Scene 2: La Mirage- Chelsea’s Suite

Chelsea is renting out a suite at La Mirage. She is currently in her bedroom, with a man in her bed whom she is riding cowgirl position. Vigorously moving up and down on top of him, she finishes her orgasm and climbs off of him, laying down next to him.

I don’t think I have the energy for a 5th time! What the hell do you take to do it 4 times in one night? We hardly got any sleep! She gets out of bed and throws a short silk robe on, tying the sash around her waist. I have to meet my brother and future sister in law for breakfast this morning. Not sure if I will be able to keep myself from falling asleep in my food!

Jordan

He quickly jumps out of bed and comes up behind her, stopping her in her tracks, he forcefully grabs her around the waist and holds her up against him. I don’t take anything. I practice intense meditation, it really helps with mental focus and stamina. He sticks his hand through her robe and grabs her privates.

Chelsea

She laughs while pushing his hand away. Well you must teach others your meditation techniques...... She tries to walk away but he roughly pulls her to him again and starts taking off her robe and sucking on her breasts. She lets him for a moment, starting to get horny again. Then she comes to her senses. Really Jordy, stop. I need to get ready I have to meet up with Brad and Pilar in 30 minutes.....

Jordan

He jerks his head up when she says she is meeting Brad and Pilar. Who did you say they were to you, again?

Chelsea

Brad is one of my brothers and Pilar is my lifelong best friend. I’m meeting them downstairs in the dining room.  Why? She puts her robe back on and walks out into the living area.

Jordan

He grabs his clothes off the floor and starts to get dressed. Oh, no reason. I was just curious.

Chelsea

In the kitchenette, she gets herself a glass of water and squeezes some lemon into it and takes a drink. She hands him a bottled water. So, are you okay if I contact you again for another night of fun? Or are you the type of man that only wants to have 1 night of pleasure with a particular woman?

Jordan

Now fully dressed, he takes the bottled water and smiles. Most of the time I’m a one and done type. But for you...... He gets close to her again, wrapping his arms around her buttocks and squeezing. You are so very talented in the bedroom that you can call me whenever you are feeling lonely......but strictly casual. I am not a relationship guy...

Chelsea

She puts her water down on the counter and wraps her arms around his neck That is totally fine by me as well. I’m quite enjoying the single life for a while...... She gives him another passionate kiss. He pulls away, smiles at her, then heads out the door. She watches him leave with a satisfied look on her face.

Scene 3: The Bedrock Hotel-Miranda’s Penthouse

Kristen is just starting to wake up. She turns over to spoon Miranda to find Miranda’s side of the bed empty. She sits up, taking her eye pillow off her face. Miranda is just coming in with a breakfast tray and sitting it down over Kristen’s lap.

Miranda

Good morning, beautiful! I wanted to surprise you with breakfast in bed. All of your favorites: chocolate chip pancakes with fresh strawberries and whipped cream on top and coffee with a little bit of Bailey’s in it!

Kristen

Oh my god, this looks and smells so good! She picks up her coffee and inhales the aroma Especially the coffee! Thank you, baby! She leans over and gives Miranda a kiss then drinks some of her coffee. What did I do to deserve this?

Miranda

You mean in addition to your masterful skills in bed last night........it is a just a thank you for all the great work you did for the grand opening event. There were two Irish coffees on the tray, she takes the other one for herself and takes a sip, then pulls Kristen in for a little tongue action.

Kristen

Smiling from ear to ear, she enjoys the accolades of Miranda’s kiss. Well the event hasn’t happened yet. It could end up being a disaster! You should wait until tomorrow to thank me!

Miranda

Oh it’s going to be a smashing success, I have no doubt. She passionately kisses Kristen again, then pulls away the breakfast tray. On second thought, let’s eat breakfast a little later and let me show you in other ways my appreciation. She climbs on top of Kristen and begins kissing her breasts. Kristen lays back down with a happy face, enjoying being on the receiving end.

Scene 4: Janet’s House

Charlie

He brings a breakfast tray into the bedroom, sitting it down on the night stand. Janet is still sleeping, he blows air in her face to wake her up. He laughs when she jumps straight up. Wake up, sleeping beauty!

Janet

She is jolted awake by Charlie. She squints when the sun hits her eyes and Charlie is laughing at her. You suck at waking people up, Charlie. Once her eyes get adjusted and she can see, she leans over and kisses him, then notices that he is already dressed. Hey, you are leaving me already?

Charlie

Yea......sorry but after 36 hours of being in your cave with you, it is time for both of us to get back to work.

Janet

Looking bummed. Nooooo, I don’t want to! I can call out of work again today!

Charlie

No you can’t! People’s lives depend on you! I am sure you have surgeries today.

Janet

Sighing I doooooo......I have an liver transplant and a colon re-sectioning scheduled so far.

Charlie

He leans in and kisses her a couple of times. Ohhh that sounds like fun! Try to concentrate on your work and not think about me......too much. Especially don’t think about me when you are cutting up the large intestine.

Janet

Laughing. Oh but I will when I’m dissecting the bowel, you know why? Because you’re full of shit! She pulls his face in for another long kiss.

Charlie

Pulling away. Alright, I really need to go. I need to stop by the office and catch up on some paperwork before meeting up with Brad at his property. I made you your oatmeal, just how you like it. With apples and cinnamon and a side of plain yogurt. And one expresso from your expresso machine. He moves the breakfast tray onto her lap.

Janet

AwwwwwI can’t believe you remembered how I take my oatmeal! You are the best ex- boyfriend/new boyfriend! Have a good day! I will see you tonight at the Bedrock. I will have to meet you there, not sure exactly what time I will be done at the hospital.

Charlie

Smiling at her and kisses her one more time before he leaves. Alright, can’t wait! Have a good surgery day, doctor! He leaves and Janet dives into her breakfast.

Scene 5: Rutledge Estate

Daniel and Julian are having breakfast together with Nathaniel. Sarah has not come down for breakfast yet.

Julian

How long do you think Sarah is going to give you the silent treatment? He says before taking a bite of his eggs.

Daniel

Reading the newspaper, he puts it down when Julian asks about Sarah. Till the next ice age, perhaps? I will be long gone by then, though. He looks over at Nate who is playing with his food and making a big mess on the table. Nate, food is for eating, not playing! Start eating it now or I will take it away from you and you will have to deal with hunger pains until lunch!

Julian

Laughing at his father’s comment about the next ice age. It already feels like the ice age has hit this house, she is being so cold, to both of us.

Daniel

Son, word of advice to you: Don’t marry a woman who is half your age! There is a big maturity difference! He whispers while Julian covers Nate’s ears. Julian smiles with a laugh.

Sarah

Sarah comes downstairs in her robe, looking like a hot mess. She walks into the kitchen and kisses her son, ignoring Daniel and Julian. She goes over to the back of the kitchen, helping herself to a cup of coffee and a blueberry muffin. With her back turned to her husband and Julian, she pulls a shot bottle of Maker’s Mark out of her pocket and puts some in her coffee. She feels like a train hit her, a really bad hangover. Moving to the table with her cup and small plate, she sits down next to Nate and straightens his disheveled hair. She starts to drink her spiked coffee.

Daniel

Good Morning, my wife. You look stunning as always. He says with sarcasm then turns away from his newspaper, giving her a forced smile. How is the toddler bed treating you?

Sarah

She waits a minute before replying, drinking more of her coffee and taking a small bite of her muffin. Very comfortable, thank you. She eats more of her muffin.

Nate

I love sharing my bed with Mommy! Sarah smiles at him and pets his head.

Daniel

She speaks! So the cold war is over, then?

Sarah

She shoots daggers at him with her eyes. No, not over. But a temporary truce, I guess.

Julian

Standing up I’m just going to step out for a moment to make a phone call. Don’t hurt each other while I am gone. He leaves the kitchen.

Daniel

Does this mean we are still going to the Bedrock, tonight then?

Sarah

Sitting all the way back in her chair, with her coffee cup in her hand. Sure, why not? It isn’t like there is anything else to do in this lame town.

Daniel

Terrific! And will we stay sober, tonight?

Sarah

Daniel, let’s make this clear. You may be my husband, but you can’t tell me what to do. If I want to have a drink or two, I will. Got it?

Daniel

Looking at her with disdain, he picks his newspaper back up and goes back to reading, covering his face with the paper.

Julian

He steps into the library and pulls out his cell phone. He calls Karen Wesley. She picks it up. Hi Karen, it is Julian Rutledge.

Karen

She pulls into the parking lot of Oceanside Café. She was supposed to meet a friend for breakfast who just cancelled on her at the last minute. But she decided to
