About this ebook

Enlightened Path Towards the True Essence of Geeta.

The verses are referred to by their numbers as per the Bhavartha Deepika (Composition’s purpose is to enlighten the true meanings as laid out in the Sacred texts of Geeta) which is the name of original composition by 13th century Maharashtrian Saint Dnyaneshwar.
They should be referred to for context and to build an understanding of the original text as it is and this humble interpretation by Author should be just considered an individualistic imagination and effort to understand and feel the devotion towards Lord Krishna.
Author has tried to explain the verses as they are, wherever possible, and then expanded with creative freedom on what could be the symbolism and analogies the verses that can be derived from. Whatever is derived, or expressed in parallel symbolism or analogies, thus express the Author’s individual opinion and imagination.
Author has also tried to interpret the tale in an original manner (in context of the deriving the parallelism, using the parallelisms, symbolisms and analogies and in providing examples) in addition to what has already been written by Shri Dnyaneshwar as elucidated in composed in Marathi verses as it existed during 13th Century.

Author has leveraged the verses, and their sequence and corresponding chapters or adhyayas as they are referred to by Shri Dnyneshwar to structure his own interpretations of symbolisms that may exist or can be derived, however they should be taken as creative liberties to expand on, while preserving the original intention of the sacred tale.

Enlightened Path towards the True Essence of Geeta. Chapter 9 - Abhijit Telang

Chapter 9: Vidya Yoga (The Pathway to Salvation and Ultimate Freedom)

    Verse 34-46 (Sanskrit: 9.1)

    श्री भगवानुवाच

    इदं तु ते गुह्यतमं प्रवक्ष्याम्यनसूयवे।

    ज्ञानं विज्ञानसहितं यज्ज्ञात्वा मोक्ष्यसेऽशुभात्।।9.1।।

Lord decides to grace the earnest and deserving seeker in Arjuna with the Divine Knowledge. There can be contrasting tendencies about knowledge or wisdom. It is coveted by those who are sincere about their pursuit. It can also induce jealousy and hatred among those who are not deserving of so. (yet). The demoniacs can be bitter about immortality of divine virtues. They too jealously seek immortality but not the virtues themselves. They seek the power to survive and conquer from the everlasting ones but not necessarily imbibe the sublimity in existence. The demoniacs can also be jealous about the virtuous path taken by earnest devotees, for former’s choice was perdition rather than salvation. The fickle nature of receivers must be watched out for and known in advance, to ensure that Divine Grace is not granted to undeserving, for it will be twisted, turned, used, and abused. Every aspect of life, every talent, every capability to ideate, design, plan and execute, to communicate, to lead, to follow, are gifts from Lord. They must not be abused in promoting sin or sinful conduct.

Hence Lord warns Arjuna that this grace is being granted to him, only because he is not jealous, and he does not have tendency to betray. A good hearted, kind milkman never betrays his cow for the milk that cow grants will be wasted otherwise. The vessel of attentive mind must be capable of and have the temperament to receive the milk of Divine Grace in its original form and with sincere gratitude. This shall never be stolen nor should be abused. The seeds (of divinity) must be sown on soil (consciouses of devotional seekers) which is fertile to them.

Those are rare indeed whose swan of consciousness can discover and internalize the pearls of wisdom, rather than becoming lost and overburdened with randomness of the world.

    Verse 47-56 (Sanskrit: 9.2)

    राजविद्या राजगुह्यं पवित्रमिदमुत्तमम्।

    प्रत्यक्षावगमं धर्म्यं सुसुखं कर्तुमव्ययम्।।9.2।।

The true source of knowledge comes from within. What is perceived
