About this ebook

There are some things that are better left in the past...Or maybe not?

When Eden Klein sets out early in the morning to feed the neighborhood strays she has no idea what the day will bring.

But when a little rascal kitten and Eden's early morning brain fog collide, nothing can stop her dangerous past from bubbling right back up to the surface.

Should she head back into the safety of her daily routines, or take a leap of faith that the universe knows what it's doing?

About the Author

Linn Strang spent her childhood skiing and fishing in Swedish Lapland, before moving to the scorching heat of the Middle East. Her B.A. in International Relations and M.A. in Conflict Resolution would have been perfect for a job at the UN, but instead, she makes good use of them by writing larger-than-life stories that keep readers flipping the pages. She writes full-time and lives in Jerusalem with her family and two cats, Nefi and Sisu.

EDEN SHIVERED AS SHE pulled a forest-green knitted sweater over her head and stuffed her feet into a pair of warm socks. The morning had turned into one problem after the next, the most serious of which was the broken water heater. Until she got it fixed she would have to warm up water in the tea kettle and take bucket showers if she wanted to get clean. The Jerusalem skies had been grey and dreary for the past week and the solar panels, while great on sunny days, were useless when the clouds refused to let the sun through.

Looking forward to a quiet morning, she opened the lid on the coffee machine and poured in two measures of medium roasted grounds. Leaving the machine to gurgle and hiss at its own pace, she finished getting ready and headed outside. According to the thermometer it wasn’t that cold, but the harsh wind made it feel as if it could snow at any moment.

She’d made it to the first feeding wall and knocked out the customary amounts of food, when she noticed a gleaming black car with diplomatic registration plates parked by the curb. There wasn’t anything unusual in that, seeing as how embassy and consulate personnel from a number of countries lived in the neighborhood. But at this hour they normally made their rounds, checking the security of embassy properties and cars, and then went on their way.

    The car was
