The Month of Christmas - Day 1-5 - C. Mice
Early one morning, the North Wind begins to blow and Old Man Winter arrives. He brings the first
snow of the season. The snow is as light and fluffy as cotton candy. It covers the ground and trees. He looks at his work and smiles. It marks the first day of Christmas Month.
When everyone at the North Pole wakes in the morning, the snow is sparkling in the sun. All is quiet and calm. They know it is time to get ready for the Christmas parade. The parade re-enacts the elves' journey to the North Pole.
People have parades to start their Christmas season too. Usually, Santa and his sleigh are at the end and people wait to see him. Did you know the first Santa Claus Parade was in 1887 in Peoria, Illinois? There is also the famous Macy's parade on Thanksgiving day in New York City. It began in 1924.
Toronto, Canada has a very large parade that started in 1905 and Mexico City has a parade during their month of Christmas, December 16 – January 6.
The forest animals come to the parade. Friends from the Enchanted Forest come too. They all love Christmas Month. Even the Christmas Goblins come. They put on hats to try and disguise themselves as elves so the animals do not chase them away. Do you see them?
The elves who are not in the parade are in the stands. They love when Christmas Month begins. They work hard all year getting ready.
