From The Memory Of The Collector - Or "Calling The Priest To The Sinner" - Paulina Dębska
From the author
My name is Paulina. I have the title of Europeanist and I come from Gdańsk. So far, I have not wanted to work in the profession for more than a month and honestly, it was probably the best decision of my life.
Currently, I live in Wrocław, because it was this city that gave me wings to develop in a profession that was supposed to be waiting
and turned out to be one that I want to pursue and develop in my life. After all, Wrocław is the cradle of debt collection.
But maybe from the beginning. My adventure with telephone debt collection began over 3 years ago. However, in telephone customer service, she has been working for almost 10 years and I think I can confidently say that it has no secrets from me, although it can be difficult.
So far, I've spent over 7 million minutes talking to clients. On the other hand, I made about 1 million phone calls. When it comes to debt collection , I have over 1.5 million minutes spent talking to debtors. This gives over 350,000 interviews over 3 years. It is as if I would unpack as many as conversations every day, Kinder surprises , getting more and more excited about them. And how to do it so that the level of this excitement increases every day, and conversations with debtors are easier, more pleasant and at an ever higher level? And how to recover debts at the level of 4 million - like me for 3 years of working as a telephone debt collector ? You will find out from my book.
This book is a specific collection of my professional experiences. It is a guide for beginners and advanced learners. I want to provide you with practical knowledge and share with you my experiences from telephone debt recovery. I address it both to the group of beginner debt collectors , as well as experienced ones - in order to systematize the knowledge already possessed.
While still in Gdańsk, I completed the course: "Debt collection games - key competences", carried out by Debt Collection Architects from Wrocław.
I am the author of my own debt collection course:

Privately, adoptive mother of a 2-year-old dog Maciej, a Basenji breed , madly in love with him 😊.
I invite you to read my book. After each chapter, you will find a summary of the most important information in it and a single-choice knowledge test.
CHAPTER 1. ELEMENTS OF A COLLECTION INTERVIEW
In general, debt collection means a creditor pursuing a claim as permitted by law. Unfortunately, debt collection companies are often exposed to criticism due to alleged unlawful actions. These allegations are not entirely made up. Mainly because of not always ethical actions of both debt collection companies and their employees. My book is so that the company you work for does not have to deal with such insults, because pro -customer attitude is the basis of this industry. The fact is that, in most cases, these insults are tossed by frustrated debtors without being real. It should be remembered that the times of free American
in debt collection are over. It took place in the 90s, when a broad man in a leather jacket, to achieve his goal of paying off his debt, used a baseball , which he had hidden in the trunk of his black BMW.
FIGURE 1 WHAT CAN A debt collection company do?
Currently, every debt collection company is subject to banking law and is controlled by a number of financial institutions, just like banks.
The debtor's frustration is actually due to a simple reason. Namely, the topic of money and conversations on this topic, especially if the debtor does not have enough of them to pay his debts - they are inconvenient, not time and too difficult and often embarrassing for him to conduct them with a complete stranger on the other side of the telephone receiver.
Figure 2 Data of the National Debt Register
According to the data of the National Debt Register (KRD), the total debt of consumers - multi- debtors , i.e. people who have an overdue obligation towards at least 3 creditors, already amounts to PLN 22.3 billion. What's more, during the 3 years their unsettled receivables increased by PLN 1.2 billion.
