Gaelyn huffed a sigh as he slowed his car to a stop at the red light, the well-groomed moon elf leaning back into the seat, his mouth pressed into an irritated line. He just wanted to get home, have a drink and forget about work. Some staggeringly incompetent new hire (who he later learned was the director’s idiot nephew) had accidentally deleted several spreadsheets, erasing weeks’ worth of work. Gaelyn and his team had been tasked with reconstructing everything, and the man responsible didn’t have to lift a finger.

No doubt the idiot would be disciplined and then reassigned to a cushy, do-nothing job while Gaelyn was left to be the scapegoat if anything went wrong.
