A Lump of Clay
The door opens and four people with watery eyes stop out the Brooklyn house. Clay’s mom rubs
her fingers through her baby jet black hair and gives him a big hug as though it was the last time. His dad
reaches out to shake hand, but Clay grabs him instead and gives him a hug. As words of love and "We
are so proud of you" echoed through the New York evening sky, Clay takes Tori’s hands and they walk to
his car.
He opens the passenger door to his Chevrolet pick-up truck and she slowly steps in. He gives her
a kiss on the forehead and then he goes around to the other side to get in. He tells her to buckle up and
