Acknowledgement
––––––––
I thank my parents Samuel Kwame Antwi-Boasiako (Asona Abusua of Asuom) and Susana Owusua (Ekuona Abusua of Tumfa) for their hard work in training me and instilling in me the discipline that has made me so proud of my heritage.
I acknowledge my older siblings Vera Antwi-Boasiako, Nana Boadi, Charles Antwi-Boasiako, and Hannah Amofa Apenteng for all the history lessons on our rich culture which has enabled me to create such an interesting and important book.
I am most grateful to my numerous teachers, extended family, and friends who in their own special ways shaped my life and made it possible for me to reach this
milestone in my life.
Finally, I give special thanks to my classmates who assisted me with the names, current spelling, and locations of some of the towns mentioned in this book.
My late father’s favorite quote
––––––––
"The old order changeth, yielding place to new,
And God fulfills himself in many ways,
Lest one good custom should corrupt the world.
Comfort thyself: what comfort is in me?
I have lived my life, and that which I have done
May he within himself make pure! but thou,
If thou shouldst never see my face again,
Pray for my soul.
More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of."
