Man has looked out into the universe at the billions of stars calling it the heavens of God and down into the earth calling it the Hell of Satan. But the question remains in the hearts of man, how did we get here and where did we come from? Archaeologist Dana Woods and Kenneth Pierce searched the world for lost artifacts and treasures. THE ORIGIN OF MAN

Millions of years ago, before man had come into existence, billions of stars and planets lay throughout the universe. The Gods traveled throughout the universe, creating life, giving the universes and its inhabitants’ purpose and re ason.

Out of unknown events, man and woman appeared within the universe on the planet earth, racing with time trying to figure out who was responsible for his existence, giving thanks to the sun, the moon, and anything that he thought had the power to give life.

Man’s existence has been questioned as long as man has walked the earth, and now Dana Woods and Napoleon Walker have stumbled upon the truth. It’s only a matter of time before the facts spreads throughout mankind, and many will fight against the truth to keep control over man and hold power.

    CHAPTER

    ONE

A dark rain cloud lay across the sky. As the rain poured, the wind blew hard through the trees, almost pulling them up by the roots. The gray sky had an ugly look that chilled the African workers clearing the topsoil to retrieve a container that had been located by a ground x -r ay machine almost a hundred feet into the earth. Most men had never seen a storm of this magnitude. Even the beasts had run for c over.

Deep in the jungles of Africa, Archaeologist Kenneth Pierce and Dana Woods stood in the middle of the digging site with raincoats and hats pulled over their heads. Kenneth was looking into the x-ray machine again at the object. He yelled through the rain and wind at Dana, who stood about two feet from him. The x-ray machine is still showing the large object to be about the size of a two-story building almost a hundred feet deep in the ground.

Dana yelled back with her raincoat flapping in the wind and rain. That’s hard to believe.

The readings are ninety-seven point five feet. From the reading on the x-ray machine, it’s not malfunctioning. I’ve checked it three times. Everything’s working.

Kenneth couldn’t believe what he had read, so he took another look.

Dana couldn’t believe it either. Are you sure the readings are correct?

It’s correct, he replied, taking another look through the scope.

Dana stepped in front of the x-ray machine for the first time to look at the readings herself. She looked at Kenneth with a smile on her face. I don’t believe anyone has ever found anything this deep down into the ground. This area has never been touched from looking at these trees and landscapes. If it has, it was before man had any recordings of himself.

Kenneth nodded his head in agreement with her, you are right, and after looking at the ground surface, even with all of this rain, we will need to fly in special machinery. If we try using manual labor to break through the ground, digging that deep would take months or even a year.

The African workers were still clearing the trees, rocks, vegetation, and debris overhead, Danny Walker, yelled through the rain and wind. Stop and go back into your tents and wait for the rain to slow down as he walked up with his raincoat and rain hat pulled tight over his head.

The rain had started to pore so hard until the workers couldn’t see the ground, and the only thing that was moving was water flooding around their ankles.

Kenneth and Dana had already gotten out of the storm. The rain had begun to pour down on them like buckets of water being poured over their heads Dana looked out of the tent, "If this gets any worse, we will need a boat to get out of here. Did you see the size of those raindrops?

How could I miss them, taking his hat off, shaking water onto the floor?

Danny approached Kenneth and Dana at the tent door. He had worked with them many times in Africa. Danny was a prominent African man who spoke excellent English, and he was hired for the sole purpose of communicating between the workers and Kenneth.

In this storm, the men can’t see an inch in front of their faces. It doesn’t look like it’s going to let up for a while. I had the workers return to their tent until the storm slow down.

Good, it looks like it will take a few days, before we can use them anyway.

Danny looked perplexed. Is there a problem?

Kenneth replied, yes and no. Besides the rain, the object we are digging up is too deep into the ground to dig out by hand.

If the storm doesn’t let up and one of the companies we use doesn’t mind flying in this weather, we plan to have some machinery flown in tomorrow to do the more significant part of the digging. So, tell the men that it will not affect their pay? It will remain the same.

Yes, sir, I will let them know immediately.

Dana pulls the disk of the x-ray machine from her pocket, holding it toward Kenneth. Less have a look at the findings on the computer.

Are you sure we don’t need a boat to make it over to the tent where the computers are?

I think what’s on here, holding up the disk, is worth the swim.

You have a point, and just maybe we can put a name to this thing before we get it out of the ground.

After putting their rain gear on, the two of them dashed out into the storm toward the other tent.

Walter Cooks wore a wide brim hat, brown and green jungle clothing, with leather boots that came high up his legs almost to his thigh. He was a big man about 35 years old with deep blue eyes, stood six feet four, and weighed nearly three hundred pounds.

He sat at one of the computer tables, drinking a cup of coffee. He was the government’s watchdog, ensuring that whatever was found was reported and that the foreign workers got their worth.

He looked up from the computer at Dana and Kenneth entering the tent, from a game he was playing, it doesn’t look like the storm will let up out there, and night will fall soon. I should put more lights around the perimeter just in case we have to find our way out of here, if this storm gets any worse.

Kenneth and Dana took off their rain gear. We have more problems than that, Kenneth answered. We can’t do anything out there, even if it wasn’t storming.

    What’s going on?

Walter looked at them both. The object is too deep for the men to dig up by hand, and its size is bigger than anything we’ve ever found before.

What the hell did you find a spaceship?

We don’t know. I’ve never known anything to be found that big or that deep in the ground.

As Kenneth and Walter talked about what might be in the ground, Dana sat in front of the computer. She pulled the object up on the screen from the disk. She had no idea what it was, and when she put it on full screen, she could see symbols of some language or writings all over it. So that let her know that some intelligent life form put it there or left it there.

Kenneth and Walter’s attention were drawn to the computer as they stood over her shoulders, looking at the object. It was a square object, and it looked like it was suspended in or on something on the computer.

Dana was trying to get the computer to read off what the object was made of, but the substance did not register or match any substance or material known to man. No matter how many times she ran it through the computer, she got nothing. She thought maybe it was just too deep in the ground for the computer to get an accurate reading of its substance.

What the hell is that, Walter asked?

I’m not sure Dana replayed, shaking her head. I won’t know until we get it out of the ground.

There has never been anything recorded this deep in the ground, and the computer can’t pick up what kind of material it’s made of.

This finding is one of a kind, and it should put your organization ahead of the game, as Walter took a seat next to Dana, looking into the computer.

I don’t know about ahead of the game, but it should put us right up there with one of the best findings throughout history.

Tell me something, Walter said, have you or anyone else found anything of historical value outside of Africa? The world has been robbing Africa of its treasures and history for as long as Africa has existed. Civilization and creation started in Africa.

Wherever you go on this planet and find anything of historical value, believe me, it would have come from Africa, made in Africa, or have some African traits on it. Africa is the cradle of life. Some scientists say the first man was believed to have been created in Africa at the beginning of life.

Walter leaned back in his seat, looking at Dana. Wouldn’t you say that the world owes a lot to Africa and its people?

    I would think so.

Kenneth took a seat at one of the desks with a phone on it, still listening to their conversation. What are the two of you talking about over there, picking up the phone making a call?

About Africa and all of its hidden treasures, Walter said.

Kenneth dialed a number, and it rang twice before Darryl Drisdle’s voice answered on the other end of the phone. They had done business many times before, so Kenneth got right to the matter at hand.

I’ve run into a bit of a problem here, I’m going to need some equipment from you, and I’m going to need it flown in as soon as possible."

Darryl, in his usual tone, responds, "Well, I’ve heard the weather is terrible over there, and flying in heavy equipment will be just about impossible, from the forecast. I thought you guys would have packed up and left that particular part of Africa before you drowned.

"I know I am asking a lot, but it’s essential, so I’ll throw in a bonus.

    What’s the bonus?

Let it be a surprise. I won’t disappoint you.

We’ll see what it looks like in the morning, let me have the list of things you need, and I will do my best.

I need something to get a hundred feet down into the ground as fast as possible. Kenneth smiles and gives thumbs up to Dana as he listens to Darryl’s response.

Thank you, Darryl. I knew you wouldn’t let me down. This is the big one.

We will see as Darryl hangs up the phone.

Dana worked at the computer, trying to get all the information she could from the object, but nothing came up in the system. She told Kenneth, We won’t learn anything about this until we get it out of the ground. Either the information doesn’t exist, or the object is too deep in the ground to get a reading.

The equipment is on the way as we speak.

Well, that didn’t take too much convincing.

You know Darryl, for the love of money, nothing will stop him.

Walter stood up and walked to the opening of the tent, looking at the rain and wind blowing across the jungle. It was odd he had not seen an animal since they had been there, not even a bird in the trees before the storm. He decided to put up more lights. He looked back at Dana and Kenneth; I think I will secure the perimeter with more lights as he headed out of the tent.

That night Dana got ready to go to sleep, she took out her portable mirror, toothbrush, and comb, and then poured a pan of water. She washed up then got into her sleeping bag as she laid there staring at the roof of the tent, knowing that she wouldn’t sleep a wink until they got the container out of the ground. She looked over at Kenneth, still sitting at the table, and she knew he wouldn’t sleep either.

Kenneth sat around most of the night with a deck of cards playing solitaire.

He walked back and forth to the door of the tent with their findings heavy on his mind until the sun started to rise.

Dana had not slept all that night either, she couldn’t, and nobody else slept from the anticipation of what was inside of the container.

Before the sun was up, the sound of the helicopter dropping off the digging equipment brought everyone out of their tents.

The storm had eased up a bit, the rain had slowed down to a drizzle, but the wind blew almost as hard as it had the day before, but it was bearable. The helicopter landed, and as soon as the equipment was unloaded, Danny instructed two men to start plowing into the ground with the tractors. One of the guys jumped on the tractor, and the other gave him instructions on where to dig.

Darryl stood next to Kenneth and Dana, saying, extensive find this time, huh? We don’t know yet, Dana answered. All we know is what’s ever down there is big.

I would love to stay to see what’s on the other end of your hook, but I’ve got another stop to make. Good luck with your finding. I’ll send you the bill.

Yea, thank you, Darryl. I’ll let you know what we find.

Darryl boarded the helicopter, and as it lifted off the ground, he looked down upon the tractors and the two men plowing into the ground.

Kenneth, Dana, and all the Africans waited to see what would be uncovered, and the helicopter flew over the top of the trees.

For five day’s they plowed into the ground, moving the earth, and now they were two feet from uncovering the treasure.

Danny stopped the tractors and told all the men to get shelves and picks, because he didn’t want to damage the object. All of the men stood over the container digging into the ground with hand brushes, as Dana stood off to one side, looking with a bottle of water in her hand.

The weather was great. The rain had stopped and the sun was out shining bright. It was as if the storm had never happened. It was like that in Africa flash floods when you least expect it.

Africa was a beautiful place. Every inch of it has character, style, and charisma, even out in the middle of nowhere.

As everyone’s eyes stared at the ground, waiting to see what they had found. Walter walked up and stood next to Dana and Kenneth. I can’t imagine what it is you’ve found, looking at the workers digging into the ground.

Yes, it’s a stretch. Something that deep in the ground can make the mind wonder how, what, and when.

    Kenneth looked on as the
