Writer BioKrystal M. Harris was born in North San Juan, California. She grew up on a chicken farm on 18- acres of rural property, and vividly remembers plucking chickens with her small 6-year old hands, as well as searching for mountain lions on the vast acreage. She summered in the Philippines with her father and became enamored with the concept of a human thread that is unifying despite apparent differences... something that would aid her future career as a storyteller.Harris studied abroad in London, at The Actor’s Studio to aid in her storytelling journey and to discover how actors interpret scripted material. She further honed these skills in Los Angeles working as a commissioned writer for Beacon Pictures and helping to develop features for their slate. She has been mentored by renowned coach, Anthony Gilardi with whom she wrote and produced the short film “Unvisible,” highlighting the 22-suicides-a-day phenomenon in the Veteran community.Harris is an accomplished writer having penned, “The Wonder Girls,” a television film for Teen Nick, and most recently has placed in several festivals with her pilot “The New Jim Crow: Majority Rules.” Which won Best Pilot at the NYC Webfest, also garnering a nomination for Best First Time Female Director for the short project. This project has also been selected to screen at the Southwest Regional Film Festival. Her pandemic project Sunset which featured actors filming virtually in Los Angeles, CA, Atlanta, GA, and London, UK, has just been nominated for NYC Webfest in 2021. PROLOGUE

Once upon a time, in a small country town, there lived an eight-year-old boy named Kodi. He was an ordinary child with an extraordinary imagination. Kodi dreamed big, much like any child his age... much like you.

Kodi’s dreams visited him every night, but were quickly forgotten when he awoke the next day. However, Kodi’s life changed forever when he learned that the magic of his dreams really did exist, and that it started with a simple thought.

This is the story of how Kodi met Magellan and learned how to make his magnificent dreams real.

CHAPTER ONE

Kodi was smart, curious, playful, and, most of all, loved. He lived in a beautiful brick house with his mother and his father. Although Kodi was an only child, he always found ways to entertain himself.

In the hot summer months, Kodi would travel down to the lake’s edge. He would marvel at his reflection in the glassy water, and he would play and skip along the shoreline. He would pick flowers for his mother, and fashion them into beautiful crowns fit for a queen.

Kodi would take a long rope and tie it around the branches of the strong oak tree near the lake. He would hold on to one end and count to three...

...and then he would swing from the tree into glorious cannonballs, splashing wildly and happily into the crisp, cool waters.

In the spring, Kodi would climb the apple tree in front of his house to pick the ripening fruit. The apples from this tree, his father once told him, were grown with a special ingredient: love. And it showed, because every apple from Kodi’s tree had a heart shape on its shiny surface, and the tree always bore fruit no matter what season fell upon the town. Kodi liked to help others, so he would take the heart-marked apples and give them to the merchants at the local farmer’s market
