The noble Polish coat of arms Oginiec.
Das adlige polnische Wappen Oginiec.
Oginiec, Tor - polnisches herzogliches Wappen .
Kasper Niesiecki, Herbarz Polski, T.II
Kasper Niesiecki, Herbarz Polski, T.II
Oginiec, gate - Polish ducal coat of arms.
The description of the coat of arms.
The description of the history:
Kasper Niesiecki, claiming to be the historical work of Wojciech Kojałowicz, describes the coat of arms:
It was supposed to be a camp gate, and on it a torn cross, over the helmet of the ducal miter (...)
Kasper Niesiecki, Herbarz Polski, T.II
Some historians believe that there is not a torn cross at the top of the gate, but a white lily and golden leaves in the golden circle. Most often, however, the cross is torn at the top.
Contemporary description
The modern description is as follows:
On the blue field shield, on the shoulder of a red buckle, a silver cross is severed at the top.
The whole is surrounded by a heraldic mantle lined with an ermine.
The cloak is crowned with a prince's miter.
genesis
Juliusz Ostrowski refers to the coat of arms as one of the oldest Ruthenian coats of arms. Piotr Małachowski added information in his coat of arms book that the coat of arms in Poland was bought in 1028 by Władysław II.
Legend
Kasper Niesiecki (followed by Kazimierz Czarniecki) gives the following legend:
The coat of arms, acquired on the occasion when the Tatars broke through the gate in the camp, the ancestor of this house, was caused by the fact that the princes of Ruthenians and Tatars vaporized with it
