About this ebook

A woman is drawn into passionate memories of the beach town bad boy she never forgot in the New York Times–bestselling author’s time shift erotic romance.

Twenty years ago, Bess Walsh had it all—a college student from a good family with a well-groomed boyfriend who hinted more than once about a ring. Then came the hot summer when she was taken. Absolutely and completely.

While working as a waitress and living on the beach, she met Nick, the moody local bad boy. He was, to put it mildly, not someone she could take home to Daddy. Instead, Nick became her dirty little secret—a fervent sexual accomplice who knew how to ignite an all-consuming obsession she’d had no idea she carried deep within her.

Bess had always wondered what happened to Nick after that summer, after their promise to meet again. And now, back at the beach house and taking a break from responsibility, from marriage, from life, she discovers his heartbreaking fate—and why he never came back for her. Suddenly Nick’s name is on her lips.. . . . his hands on her thighs...dark hair and eyes called back from the swirling gray of purgatory’s depths.

Dead, alive, or something in between, they can’t stop their hunger.

She wouldn’t dare.

It wasn't what I expected. It wasn't horrible, I just was never comfortable with the story line.

To sum things up, Nick and Bess's whole future could have been different if they would have confessed out loud how they really felt about each other from the start. This book had it's ups and downs for me but overall I enjoyed it. I wish that Nick was a little more loving and that Bess was a little more decisive. She was all over the place in what she wanted and Nick was a little cruel at times. The story wasn't that satisfying in the end and I wanted more to be said between them.

I love a good romance, and this is a really good one. I think everyone has that relationship that ended despite lingering deep feelings. This book is the second chance we all want. Sure there is liberal use of magic to allow for that chance, and that requires the suspension of disbeleief. But that suspension feels wonderful here. With few exceptions (Shayla Black is really the only exception I can think of) I am not a vampires and werewolves kind of romance reader, partially because I can't believe in the premise and partially because I don't find the idea of sex with wild dogs particularly appealing. But this, this sexy as hell ghost I had no problem with. I loved Nick. The shift back and forth between "then" and "now" was a great way to develop the characters, and also explained why Nick could not rest. I had a "Nick" of my own when I was 20, and I still think about my beautiful tortured bad boy over 20 years later. Thank you Ms. Hart for writing the end of that story, and for writing it so very beautifully. I hate when I fall I love with characters and the author is too lazy or unskilled to serve those characters well. Megan Hart is neither lazy nor unskilled and she clearly loved Bess and Nick as much as I did. I bet she cried at the end too.

I have to say that Deeper is by far my favorite Megan Hart book so far. Reliving a broken heart from twenty years ago hurts but finding out the truth must hurt so much. But what if you were given a second chance to last least say goodbye. Twenty years ago mistakes where made that have shaped Bess's live and now it's her chances to find out what happened so long ago.

This book is overflowing with emotions and i felt ever bit of it. Bess and Nick are characters that will stay with me for a long time if not ever.

if you enjoy romance, love that last even through the sea of time, being able to look at moments in the past that brought two people to where they are today then you Must pick this book up.

Thank you Megan hart for a outstanding read.

Ok, I just finished this and I can't seem to stop crying for the past half hour. I'm just glad my husband's out tonight and my children asleep, so they won't see me in the terrible mess:)This started as great, became slow and contrite after 100 pages and picked up pace again after 70-80 pages. I must admit that before I read the last 2-3 chapters, I was very angry with Bess and meant to rate it with 3 stars but the ending changed my mind. It was like a punch in the gut and I'm not still sure if I mean it in a good way:)To be honest, I had guessed from the reviews and even the book's back cover why Bess and Nich were originally separated, so it wasn't a surprise for me. Still reading about it, was different from imagining it and it moved me profoundly -my heap of sodden kleenex is solid proof of that:).I will say that Nick was the bad boy as we imagine him in our twenties. Handsome, charming, plays around and never stays for long. But in the end, I couldn't help but fall for his charm. He hides a scared boy inside him that Bess, being the ultimate good girl and complete opposite of him, surprisingly manages to reach. I really understood the way he reacted to Bess's pressure; he was not a guy to react well in pressure or emotional blackmail -no proud man or woman is- and although he was harsh, he was never mean. Bess however got on my nerves. I have never seen a woman muddle up every single important conversation in her life before her. She either didn't know what she wanted and expected the others to give her the answer, or managed to say the wrong thing at the wrong time. She didn't speak a clear sentence in her life except in the very end: "I think we're over", "I don't know if I love him", "I 'sort of' have a boyfriend"... I was so angry with her. Just when I was ready to give up on her, she made one clear choice -and one which I agreed obviously- and saved the day. However, I found her too weak and that's what mainly made me rate it with 4 stars. I have only recently started to tap on erotica/romantica, but this one had much more depth and serious plot that any other I've written. Also the sex is rather tame -think Passion by Lisa Valdez- for erotica, if plenty. If you're looking for a real bawler, this is it. I just hope I can get my eyes dry before my husband comes home cause I'll start crying once again, if I have to tell him the story:)

An erotic story with a touch of paranormal that explores love from a different angle. Plot unfolds by switching back and forth with Bess at age 20 then at age 40 and her relationships with bad boy Nick and boyfriend Andy. This book maintained my interest and tugged at my emotions although I wish it had a different ending.

I expected so much more based on the reviews. I just did not feel connected to Nick. Maybe that is why I didn't feel for him towards the end of the book. I did like Eddie. It's hard to talk about this book without revealing spoilers. I did like how the author kept going back and forth from 20 years ago to now. I thought I wouldn't but I did.

This book is awesome! And by that, I truly mean that it left me in awe. I laughed, I cried and I thoroughly enjoyed this book so much that I'd break the bank to read more by Hart. While this might sound a little cheesy, this book is deep. It's got a lot more to it than romance, sex or lust. It's got emotion and creates feelings in the reader. This was so much more than just a love story. It has a little twist that I didn't expect, and at first wasn't sure I'd like, but it really worked. The kind of love that Bess and Nick have is something to be cherished. It's something all women dream of. It was amazing! Then, there's the chemistry between Bess and a former co-worker that comes into play later on. I was almost pulling for them to work it out, but at the same time, Bess has Nick to worry about. The layout of the book took a little getting used to. It would start with a chapter of present time, then jump to a chapter of the past. It went back and forth all throughout. Once I got into the flow, I liked it!I strongly recommend this book. I've already got another book that I'm getting ready to read of Ms. Hart's!

Ever since I heard of Deeper I knew I would buy it, and love it. And so I did. Even though it’s not a romance, and I found it painful to know that there couldn’t be a happy ending. I kept thinking about it for days after I finished, which is very rare for me.My major quibble with the book is that there was way too much sex in the present storyline. And it’s for this reason that I much preferred the parts set in the past.Maybe this book would have been better if it hadn’t been in the Spice imprint. Or maybe, the fact that basically all they did in the present storyline was having sex constituted a necessary element for the later developments. As if to show once more that there couldn’t be a happy ending for them.It was certainly a poignant, haunting read. Megan’s writing and characters are always vivid and realistic, her author’s voice distinctive.

So many summers Bess Walsh spent at her grandparents house at the beach, good memories for the most part. Now that her life seemed to be falling apart that is exactly where she wanted to be. Returning brought back memories and feeling of that last summer when she met and spent so much time with Nick. Not knowing what had happened, why he had never contacted her, he had never left her thoughts even though she had moved on. Being back, could the memories and desire to see him really bring him back to her. There are twist and turns in this one, is he real or is he her memory or just her imagination. The way the story bounced back and forth to tell from “then” 20 years ago and “now” was a bit confusing at first but it didn’t take long to catch on. The real surprises happened more in the “then” while the “now” was all about consequences and missing that “what could have been.” I had tried to read this before and didn’t get too far so it is definitely one that you have to be in the right frame of mind to read. Not the HEA I usually read. Had to wait till the end to confirm what happened to Nick, but in the end, I enjoyed it with all the character interactions.
