MJP Padre is a novelist. He has COPD. He was diagnosed 7 years ago in 2015. MJ never smoked, his disease is from 2nd. Hand Smoke. He is gradually losing control over his body and life. He has just received a handi-cap plackard for parking his vehicle and has had some debilitating things happen in his life because of his sick lungs. The book is written with the help of hundreds of his friends in an international group of fellow COPD patients. He lives in Sacramento, California in the USA with his wife Sharon and their cat Molly.

us on the long hard road we walk around the globe and to our family, friends and caregivers who walk this road with us.

The people in this book are between the ages of 50 to 81 years old. They grew up in the world when smoking was encouraged and glamorized. The commercials of the Marlboro Man on his horse in a ranch hands clothes in a Ranch corral leaning against a fence…this was when the commercials on the TV were selling cigarettes….the magazines were full of ads and you could light up with your doctor in his or her office. This was the era where the commercial of the man smoking a pipe showed him as an intellectual or the man with the cigar was a Man’s Man. This was the age when movies and TV were glamorizing smoking where certain characters were known by their cigarette or pipe or cigar. Some of us never smoked, we got the disease from 2nd. hand smoke, bad air quality, factory dust and the sorts.

This book is about the lives of countless numbers of COPD sufferers around the world. In it you will find personal comments about various subjects of the disease and how it affects us in our lives and our wishes and our losses. Please read this in order to gather knowledge of what your loved one, friend or patient is really going through and how you may in a small or large way can understand us and help us. This book is being written in 2022 to give you a time frame for some of the answers to the questions.
