About this ebook
Preparedness is the only intelligent approach to a crisis . We find ourselves in a global health crisis and nations floundering without any preparedness for a pandemic. The ancient Tamils of India have worked on this type of scenario centuries back and figured a way out psychologically and physically. Unfortunately, either that knowledge is lost or being practiced ritually without a clear understanding of what had been said. This book deals with such a knowledge which addressed a pandemic such as Covid19 and a way out it. From a larger perspective, that knowledge base drew road maps for humanity based on sustainability, circularity and X Factor principles which are in vogue now. This book explores and investigates poems of medieval times for inspiration. The hope is that the next generation will have set principles that will guide them through difficult times in the future and guide the present generation to correct themselves from mistakes made in the past. Corona shutdown is a period for contemplation. This book deals with topics that intertwines deep religious, philosophical, with innovative architectural concepts, decentralized systems, quantum physics, social paradigm shifts, climate connectedness, economics, global map building, and futuristic concepts. Michelle Thatcher, CEO, U.S. Green Chamber of Commerce observes "I know and appreciate the importance of learning from the past but did not realize the extent to which these historic Tamil teachings would parallel our top crises that we are dealing with today. From our pandemic, to social injustice to climate change—there are lessons to learn on a personal, as well as professional level".

INTRODUCTION
COVID 19 is a global pandemic which has taken a severe human toll. Currently 53.3 million cases with infection and 1.3 million deaths have been reported. 212 countries and territories around the world have taken severe actions against this pandemic by placing restrictions on the movement of vehicles and people around the world. Global transportation has come to a halt and people are constrained to their homes in a lockdown. The world has not seen such actions on a war time footing, in recent times
Man, by nature is nomadic and he needs to move. However, COVID19 has made a house arrest of humanity which has its own psychological cost. People are depressed. Some even attempt suicide as there is no diversion such as theatre, cinema, malls, pubs, and social gathering. While the whole world is trying to find a way, the ancient Indians have found certain psychological tools with which one can overcome depression and fear. These are poems called Divine Shield or Kavasam
in Tamil. One of the earliest attempts of this nature was discovered by Periyalvar a saint poet of early 9th century CE. He has composed 473 poems with which 10 poems directly addressed a pandemic like COVID19. These poems when understood correctly will be a psychosomatic immune boost. Knowing the desperate need for such a help to humanity, an attempt has been made to translate poems of divinity in English.
The author of these texts is scientifically trained with PhDs in Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry but is also well-versed in the traditional interpretation of medieval divine doctrines.
These poems when understood and recited, protect the infected and those who want to protect themselves from any infections in the future.
Positive deviance (PD) is an approach to behavioural and social change based on the observation that in any community there are people whose uncommon but successful behaviour or strategies enable them to find better solutions to a problem than their peers. COVID19 has placed the entire humanity on a behavioural paradigm shift, involving social, individual, and environmental awareness. That is being explored in these beautiful poems full of allegories and metaphors. This book opens a new window to the mystical and eternal eastern philosophies. Eternal here
