When I saw this book about Asian elephants, I thought it was going to be about Laos once known as The Land Of A Million Elephants. Instead it is about the protected ones living in the Smithsonian Zoo, also known as the National Zoological Park in Washington DC and has no admission fees despite a large staff and a number of qualified veterinarians. There are many pictures of the elephants having fun and being taken care of by committed staff and veterinarians. This grandma learned a lot and I hope to see the print copy in school and local public libraries!I requested and received a free temporary e-book copy from Capstone/Capstone Editions via NetGalley. Thank you!
