From Mediocrity to Maturity - Apostle Kadesha Jenkins

    Introduction

Mediocrity? Not at all. That just won’t do. It will never work. It isn’t enough. It’s satisfactory. Still didn’t catch it. Mediocrity just isn’t good enough! But maturity? That is enough! That is proper adequate.

Take a second and ask yourself where you are in your life right now. At this very moment, how would you describe the view of your life? Think about it. Can you say you are living to your fullest potential? Can you say you are walking satisfactorily, in a lifestyle that is pleasing to God? If you answered no or were just unsure, I need you first to know that is okay. Grab your notebooks, pens, highlighters, and all that you need to prepare yourself to shift over to a life of maturity. You’ve already taken the first steps to your mature life by investing in yourself when you decided to purchase this book. You also just examined yourself, and that is in the word!

Examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves. Surely you know that Jesus Christ is among you; if not, you have failed the test of genuine faith.

    2 Corinthians 13:5 (NLT)

Sounds like you’re shifting to me! This is only the beginning! You need to be living your fullest potential! You need to walk in a fully matured and developed life in God. You need to be all that God has called you to be! And I want to help you walk in that! So, buckle your seat belts, prepare your mind, and say goodbye to a life of mediocrity. Start your engine and go because you are on your way to a complete and fully mature life. GOODBYE mediocrity, HELLO maturity!

    Rising to the Occasion

First, I want to open up to each reader who decided to take that leap to go from mediocrity to maturity and let each of you know I am so excited for you! I genuinely believe this is another level! I believe God is taking his people to another level in all things!! You will tap into something you didn’t know or believe you could. You will begin to receive revelation that you have never been able to obtain. You are about to become so creative that God will allow you to be a problem solver.

You are going to carry what people need to solve their problems. You will be one of the problem-solvers for the Kingdom of God, that when people need things fixed or worked out, your name is mentioned, and God sends them to you. It will be because you got to another level in God. You will reach the place of maturity that will position you to help someone else come out. You are going to help others change. So, I want to thank you for purchasing this book and trusting the God in me to help push you to purpose and help you shift from a mediocre lifestyle to your mature place in God.

I am so grateful that you saw that this book could help you get to where you need to be, that it could help you go higher and shift into position. God is a shifting God, and when he shifts things, everything shifts, everything changes, everything is new.

Sometimes getting away from, breaking out, and loosening from certain things and or people can feel uncomfortable. The only way to go higher and to the next level is to let things go. You will have to submit to God and allow Him to prune you. That means you will have to allow God to remove and cut off what you no longer need.

Did you know that every plant on earth must be pruned? If you were to purchase a plant, it would have to be pruned to grow and fulfill its purpose. If you were to buy a plant or already have one in your home, it doesn’t matter how good you try to nurture the plant; it won’t ever reach its full potential or mature state without cutting some things off it.

When new plants begin to grow and sprout out on the same plant that was never pruned, the other stems start to come off and turn yellow.

Those stems start to turn yellow because they are still connected to a plant that has not been pruned. That same plant that wasn’t pruned contaminates the roots causing the others to die out. The stems beside it will begin to turn yellow and the leaves brown. You don’t want to die out because someone connected to you is dying. You don’t want to be in a place of maturity, and someone else who wants to remain in mediocrity is trying to attach to you. And it’s not only about being connected to people but also things that will cause you to stay in a stuck place. So, I know this book will give you the systems and strategies you need to create a life of maturity. Again, I just want to thank you all and welcome you to your new beginning in living a life of maturity.

    Living In Mediocrity

    CHAPTER 1

First, let’s think and grasp a clear visual of a life of mediocrity. Imagine two separate people, one living in mediocrity and the other in maturity. A life of mediocrity doesn’t have anything going on for itself. It’s a life that lacks organization, lacks order, and structure. A life of mediocrity really isn’t living, just existing. It’s also a life of settling and living under your potential. Now that you have that image in your head let’s dive deeper.

Mediocrity is formed from the root word mediocre.

Mediocre: 1. Not satisfying. 2. Poor. 3. Moderate Quality

When you go a little deeper, you’ll find that satisfactory means fulfilling. The opposite is not satisfactory, which means not fulfilling, requiring more. So, when you live a mediocre life or the things you do relate to mediocre, that means you aren’t fulfilled. When you aren’t fulfilled, that means now some things are lacking.

Because you have lacking things, you’re in need of
