Potocki, coat of arms of Pilawa (Vol. 7 p. 427-467)

Potocki, Pilawa coat of arms , in different provinces the house is famous for its age, merits and honors. Okolski held that this honorable family descended from the Moskorzewski Pilavites; but in this he errs; because, as I wrote under the coat of arms of Pilawa, Aleksander son of Żyrosław, the ancestor of this coat of arms, as the same author admits, had eight sons, one of them was Janusz from Moskorzewo, voivode of Kraków, who was another Sulisław from Potok, because I read him in the Jędrzejowski Monastery catalogue, and it is known that he was the first to write Potok from here, which, like his brother Janusz, separated him from Moskorzew for himself. Then this Sulisław was the castellan of Sandomierz in 1217, when he entered the list of Leszek the White Duke. For the same reason and for other reasons, I understand that these will correct the gray opinion relating to the beginnings of the Potocki Pilavites to the Buczacki family, for the Buczacki Pilavites (because the Abdeks, as they were called in their place , the earlier ones) only around 1540. They began to be called Buczackie when Tworowski Pilawita took the last Buczacka heiress of the abdication coat of arms, and the Potocki family under that name worked them for glory several centuries earlier. Some also understand that the Potok, located in the Sieradz Voivodeship, is the nest of this brave family, after all, in their opinion, on no unfounded basis can I abandon the authors older than Kobierzycki. Paprocki and Okolski and others; All claim that the Kraków province, like many of the most accurate names, was the beginning of the Potocki Pilavites, and even if they are silent, the gravediggers for men who remember this blood, then in Jędrzejów, then in Potok nearby von Jędrzejów, ordered that they themselves would speak for the open truth. This is the potok from which I once tithed to Jędrzejów Abbey, first Maurus, the bishop of Kraków, and then his successor Radost, who joined in 1144, and [p. 428] Wincenty Kadłubek, her successor, soon confirmed what Starowol had written to posterity. in the life of the same Kadłubek: he places the village of Borowa there, from which I understand that the Borowski Pilavites got their name. When some of the Potocki family moved to Ruthenia from Krakowski and became famous there with their knightly works and became famous, they financed złoty potok at that time as discussed below. what Starowol wrote about posterity. in the life of the same Kadłubek: he places the village of Borowa there, from which I understand that the Borowski Pilavites got their name. According to Sulisław, Sandomierski's castellan, the antiquity of his successors is finally buried deep in our memory, which I could read in various places, I quote here. Sulisław, the castellan of Zawichostki, signed a letter from Bolesław the Chaste at Nakiel. in Michow. fol. 177. in 1256 and the city of Kraków in 1258. About Klemens, the castellan of Lublin in 1256. About Jędrzej, the castellan of Wojnica in 1287. About Jan, the castellan of Sandomierz in the same year. In the first volume I talked about Klemens, the Sieradz castellan in 1306, and also about Bogusław, the Sandomierz castellan in 1256. Jan of Potok, the court of the Elżbieta court, the Queen of Hungary, son of Alexander, a courageous man who lived in the times of King Łokietek. Joannes Turów writes about him, Felicianus sicarius Hungarus, in Carolum Regem Hungariae Elisabetamque Reginam cum fenum strinxisset, et jam Regem Reginamque sauciasset, Joannes, Filios Aleksandri de Comitatu Potokiensi, bonae indolis juvenis, Vicedapifer reginae, in sicarium invectus, eum. ferro transfixit and in Cenam dejecit. Sarnicki lib. 6.fol . 3I1. says, and Joanne Patocio; but both in it and in other authors it is known that the printing house made a mistake in the following way: because Stryjkov. On his pilgrimage to Hungary after learning of the matter, Jan Potocki, a Polish nobleman, wrote and Długosz, expressing this danger from King Charles in 1330, said that this John das de comitat of Regio Joannes filios Aleksandri de Potochen, adolescens, war ingenuus , tui Dapiferi officio fungebatur, Felicianum in pueros regios, rawlitatis et necis opera anhelantem primus aggressus, sic na ictu, inter collum et scapulas inflicto, repressit debilitavitque, ot corruens deflueret praeceps in Cenam. The same is attested about him by others, Załuski Speech different f.Tember Chron 78. It is not surprising that at the Hungarian court a teacup was a Pole: for Elizabeth of Charles, the wife of the Hungarian king, was the daughter of the king of Poland , with which many Polish nobles moved to Hungary.

Włostko, the heir of Potok, signed inter praesentes on the list of the Jędrzejów monastery in 1366. 429] Paprok. about the coat of arms. fol 73. was then soon the castellan of Wiślicki, with whose title I read it under the privilege of Casimir the Great, granted to the city of Kraków in 1368. Jakub, the castellan of Radom in 1398. He narrates the letter from Jagiełło the king, given to the city of Lublin. Bernard flourished around 1435. recommended husband and his piety and greatness of spirit, but his age hid his honor: it is certain, however, that the Potocki-Pilawite family flourished from its beginnings in the first background of dignity, our writers testify, after all equal to others, so always loved them, and they sacredly guarded that to exotic titles and glorious privileges, transferable from other countries, of princes, counts and margraves, they gladly invited themselves to them and more than once did not allow them to be accommodated, as they had enough because they came from the Polish nobility. There were estates of three of Bernard's sons, Bernard, Maciej and Stanisław, but the others say that there were eight estates, all of whom, with the respect of their brother, Abbot Jędrzejowski, gave their home wealth, the monastery, for the increase in worship for ever : like Nakielski in his Miechovia fol. 510. mentions Piotr and Jan Potocki in 1460. in Szczepanowice. they gave up eternal times: jakoż Nakielski in his Miechów fol. 510. mentions Piotr and Jan Potocki in 1460. in Szczepanowice. they gave up eternal times: jakoż Nakielski in his Miechów fol. 510. mentions Piotr and Jan Potocki in 1460. in Szczepanowice.

Bernard, Abbot Jędrzejowski, son of Bernard, was named after Okolski; but Starowolski in the life of Wincenty Kadłubek, I call him Stanisław, which I understand, maybe both are true, that is, the baptismal name Bernard took on himself, which was later changed to Stanisław during the monastic investiture. After Jakub Michowski on the Vilnius suffragany, according to the papal consensus, began to govern the Jędrzejów Abbey, already the twenty-fourth since the beginning of this monastery began the abbot, in the period of which it was published, Liber retaxationum "around the year 1.550 of all praise him, that he was a divine celebrant, a model of monasticism and an adornment of his homeland, both of whom died childless, von Goworczanka, coat of arms of Rawicz, his third wife, he had three sons, Jerzy, Wojciech and Jędrzej From these Jerzy, the eldest , his son with his famous Bernard, a famous captain and warrior, but above all his bravery, on the occasion of Wiśniowiec with the Perekop Tars, published in 1512, about which Justus Decius, de Sigismundi I. temporibus, fol cum Litvanicis copiis, et Nicolaus Kameneccius cum Polonicis, ad Wiśniowiecciam opponunt [p. 430] se hostibus, qui statim in Constantini aciem irrumpunt, at il le ut fugam suorum vidit, Polonos ut subveniant, hortatur, negotium hoc Alberto Sampolinscio et Bernardo Potoccio, strenuis militibus creditum, who attacked with a big heart and captured by the prisoners the Tatars, after having broken through estates when they found them from the Untied and they overpowered the pagans, defeated the Tatar army with such a memorable defeat that twenty-five thousand of their corpses were counted, ten thousand horses captured, sixteen thousand slaves captured, as Bielski says. 519. I like him Jacob, but Starovol. in Monum. from his tombstone, Bernard and Sarnicki. I don't know if it wasn't his wife that Paprocki writes about, Elżbieta Kościelecka, Łęczyca voivode, who later married Sebastian Żórawiński, castellan of Halych.
