Overcoming Failures - Sigfried Savant
Introduction
Overcoming Failures
For many of us, failure is a part of life. We all make mistakes, fall down, and we eventually get back up. Failures seem to drive out nature's greatest strength in you, that's why it is important to learn how to overcome disappointments and frustrations and turn them into success.
Axiomatically, all of us may face certain challenges in life. Sometimes, it feels like you are the only one who has it so bad. However, I assure you that everyone out there has at least one setback in the course of their life’s journey. We may fail repeatedly, even fail once a year, or oftentimes. Yet, the most important thing to do is to know how to overcome such failures and emerge victorious from then on.
We all know, as well, that failing at something or someone is never fun. One of the most common things you hear people say is I don't like to fail at things.
I think that's a really wrong idea to have because nobody likes to fail, but the most successful people out there, who are the role models we all want to follow, did not just succeed at the first shot.
It may be undeniable that, at some point, they have failed over and over again before they became successful. The first important step to achieve your goals is to know several ways of how to overcome letdowns, setbacks, and disappointments and convert them into life-changing experiences.
Almost every top achiever has faced failed attempts, so you are definitely not alone if you have failed. Even the best had their bad days, or maybe even a bad year.
Failure is never an end. No matter how big or small the it may be; it is a mere step towards success, if you will truly analyze it. And many successful people affirm this to be true.
What is the initial or first thing that comes to you or into your mind when you hear the word failure
? Be honest! The most common thought of failure I believe, is quitting and feeling like a loser.
The word failure has such emotions attached to it for some people, I'm sure. Nevertheless, let me ask you something, if someone did not succeed, was humiliated and was ridiculed in public; do you think they will absolutely think failure equaled quitting or will they fight back and overcome the challenge?
It is worth repeating that everyone has failures. It's part of the success journey. A person that has never failed has never taken a risk, and eventually may not be equipped with experience to battle through life.
This may be especially true in the world of entrepreneurship or even in some other endeavors. There is so much opportunity out there that, without taking risks, you'll never find your dreams come true.
I've been in quite few places by using this strategy—but not everything works out for me. I failed at many things from goal setting to implementation. However, those bumps along my path have led me to amazing opportunities and I have utilized those bad situations to improve my strategies in life.
Now, do you face failures regularly? Do you make the same mistakes over again without learning the right lesson? It's fine. We all do. We've been taught to accomplish things and achieve goals under a specific period of time so we get used to doing things quickly, efficiently and effectively.
Chapter 1
Learn From failures
One of the most effective ways to learn how to overcome failures is to know, determine, and learn from them in the first place.
If you want to succeed, you must be willing to accept failure as a possibility. You can't let the same stop you. No matter what. You must be able to keep moving in spite of it. However, if you never take the time to recognize and learn from your mistakes, they will continue to happen.
Some of the most successful people in the world have failed miserably. They include names like Walt Disney, Steve Jobs, and even Michael Jackson. Nevertheless, they all had one thing in common: they learned from their failures and turned that into success.
Failures and Disappointments
When you fail at something, don't just throw up your hands and say that's life. Take a good look at what caused your failure and make changes so that you can avoid repeating it in the future.
If you are someone who is afraid of disappointments and frustrations, learn how to subdue this fear. Many people struggle with being scared to suffer from setbacks because they feel like they will never succeed if they don't triumph at the first instance or at everything they try.
This isn't true! If you are too frightened of failing at something in that you don't even try it, then how do you know whether or not you will succeed? Try new things and don't let the fear of failure keep you from doing what needs to be done for your life or even in your business!
Failure is a part of mankind’s existence. It’s something that happens to all of us at some point, whether it be small failures or big ones. You will face it, whether you like it or not. That is inevitable. It's how you deal with them that determines how your life turns out.
When faced with a setback, it's easy to get discouraged. However, how you respond to these adversities will decide your level of success in life.
If you want to be successful, you need to learn how to get up and turn the tide after you’ve been knocked down; and significantly, how to move forward from past mistakes with greater wisdom and experience.
Know Your Failures
Before you can overcome your own failures, you need to know what they are. So, take the time to sit down and think about your past experiences, taking note of where you’ve failed.
No one likes to be unsuccessful. However, it is an integral part of life. We can either learn from this or wallow in self-pity. It is up to us how we choose to handle our setbacks.
Good thing that there are ways to turn failure into success. These strategies will help you overcome your hardships, and perhaps even prevent you from going through it again in the future.
You must acknowledge your failure. This might be the hardest part about dealing with it, which is admitting that you botched. However, this must be done in order for you to fight and win over it.
If you don't acknowledge that you have failed, you won't be able to do anything about it, and your pride will let you down in the process.
You may not be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel if you don't admit that you're stuck inside a dark and dank shaft in the first place!
It’s inevitable. You can’t escape it. Accept it and move forward with the mindset that failure is not final.
This doesn’t mean that failure isn’t painful. It is. Yet, pain isn’t permanent, either you learn from it or grow from it.
Determine Why You Failed
Now that you've admitted that you have been unsuccessful, it's time to assess what went wrong. This is important so that you will know what exactly has been causing all those problems and how they came, and keep coming, about.
You might even realize that it was a simple matter of not doing something on time or maybe not asking for help when needed. Once this assessment is done, then you can go on to chart your strategy slowly, but surely this time.
Discover why you failed so you don't make the same mistake twice. If it was due to a lack of effort or laziness on your side, make an effort the next time.
If it was because of bad choices or judgments on your part, then make better choices next time. If it was beyond your control, then take the necessary steps to control the situation the next time around.
Anyone who has ever attempted to do something of value will experience failure at some point during their journey. You will fail. You will fall down.
"Will you wish to heal
